built for time for crab 2025 event

A strange creature that appeared one day in the Matoran Universe. None are sure where they come from and no Makuta has claims to making them. They appear much like the common Ussal Crab but unlike those crabs, the Matoran are uncertain how to work with these false Ussal.

Designer’s Notes: Felt like making a small crab made almost exclusively of Znap parts. Originally, this was going to be a horseshoe crab. A literally horseshoe in this instance, in which you can see some remnants. But then I realized how easily it could look like a basic Ussal, so…

This year was less productive, in terms of quantity of LEGO buildings, but I tried to enhance the quality of my works.

The building year started with a few MOCs for my photography club project and a couple of edits of my winter church work that I built in the end of 2023.

Then I participated in the Summer Joust 2024 and took part in 3 categories. That's less than last year but it was a lot of fun anyways - big thanks to everyone who hosted it.

One of my Summer Joust works was featured in a German Blog, which is definitely an honor.

Then I participated in #TimeForCrab which was quite fun as well and built a few more works with fun techniques and new pieces I got from PaB.

This year's MOCs:

Rocking around a Christmas tree

At the edge of the world

Colourful life

Stairway to memories

Etude

Haunted mansion

Pizza slice

A tart

Steak

Sushi rolls

Sad crab

A big shout out to everyone who helped me this year, with your advice I learn how to make things better! Also, thanks to everyone who supported me this year, your feedback really matters to me.

Happy holidays to you and your loved ones and good luck with building! You all are awesome.

Built for the TimeForCrab 2024 collab. As I’ve already done a Neo Classic Space crab I decided there needed to be a Blacktron crab. Because.

I've been entirely too busy this month to sit down for a proper #timeforcrab build, as organised by Pohaturon , which is a real shame cause I have been loving all the crabs on my timeline!

But! While playing with the duplo with the kiddo, I did manage to put a lil crabber together... Duplo counts, right?

This is both my entry for Summer Joust 2025 Island Bound category and an entry for #TimeForCrab

Using only the parts from 9748 and a couple of extra bevel gears, I made this alternate for the Crab collab after the pieces were sitting around for an incomplete moc I was blocked on for ages. I may publish some instructions later since alternates for this set are practically non-existent.

#TimeForCrab is here! This year we invite all builders across the community and the globe to participate in a month-long open crab collab, spanning June 22 to July 22. The task is simple:

1. Build a crab

2. Post your crab with the tag #timeforcrab

3. Repeat!

All crustaceans are welcome, and your build can be anything recognizably crustacean-inspired. Be it an actual crab, a fantasy crab, a mech, a spaceship, a castle or anything else - just make it vaguely resemble crab! The primary venues of Time for Crab are Flickr and Instagram, but feel free to share your crabs far and wide. Spread the word, and invite your friends to join!

The ambition is to make this an annually recurring month-long open collab, always taking place in this same timeframe. Let's get the ball rolling.

Fun little build for #timeforcrab 2025!

"A humble crab, said to bring good fortune to those who find it. It longs to be reunited with its other missing pieces, though."

Am I too late to join #TimeForCrab 2024?

After watching episode 351 of Ben Cossy's Bionicle Inspiration Series earlier today, I realized that I still haven't uploaded this small tablescrap from two years ago. I do kinda live under a rock.

I know I haven't really used Flickr all too much, but I created this profile with the intention to do something with it. I'm always working on my portfolio to apply for the LEGO Product Designer job, although I can't say that I have finished any of those MOCs after 11 years. Perhaps I should consider uploading work in progress stuff, but I'll inevitably start uploading things when any of them are done.

By the way, sell me your Mokarr parts!

These massive crabs are a frightful menace for any in a dark place, be that in ocean depths, caverns, or a stormy night on the beach. While in the water, their massive legs create sonic boom/shockwave with each step, disorienting any nearby creatures relying on sonar for travel. On land, while it lacks the pressure difference to make the shockwaves, a single crab can sound and feel like an entire army going on a military parade with its stomping. Though it is considered to be non-hostile towards Matoran, it is still advised to give them space.

Designer’s Notes: I had built the claws last year in attempt for my crab build, but at that time couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do for the rest of it. Mainly due to the claws being made of those motorcycle pullback motors. They made for nice large claws…but they are very large and heavy. But the legs came about when messing with things for my Bio-Cup entry and something finally clicked.

Those legs are poseable. Not with this build due to its weight, but they can move around in all directions. It’s not the most stable connection as it’s relying on the standalone ball joints staying connected to the axels. Which they only like doing if gravity is pulling them down on the axel and nothing else.

Shelltember! After two amazing months (#Frogust and #TimeForCrab), I think this September, it’s time for some turtles or anything with shells. Of course as a big ninja turtles fan, I’ll build few of those guys in different styles and share the instructions. Everything from the TMNT universe is welcome!

If you decide to join the fun, you can either join the Flickr group or post on instagram with hashtag #shelltember2025. It’s not a contest, just a challenge :)

Free instructions for these guys on tinybrick.world - enjoy!

P.S. Don’t forget that it’s also Shiptember!

The fact this build lined up with #timeforcrab 2024 was a nice coincidence.

Time for Crab!

The absolutely fantastic Top Ten Mocs show is back on Youtube. Really glad the new Brickvault owners have got the company running on all its cylinders again.

My little crabby moc made it into the episode on Wed 3rd July 2024 at number 3. Yay!

This show is always great to watch and a constant source of inspiration for me: www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2cUzEeLPWc

Time for crab???

I wanted to experiment with the Ma.K aesthetic again, and this time I think I was a bit more successful.

Here's another great blog site, Color It Blacktron. Really cool to see a site dedicated to one of the coolest looking Classic Space themes and there is a great blog about my Blacktron crabby on there right here: color-it-blacktron.blogspot.com/2024/07/feeling-little-cr...

Built for the TimeForCrab 2024 collab running from June 22 to July 22. Of course because it’s me I have to make it Classic Space themed…

For this year's #TimeForCrab collab I built one of my favorite Battlemechs, the 50 ton CRB-27 Crab, an all-energy weapon skirmisher with some funky legs and funky claws.

It's Time for Crab!

via Tumblr.

Went for a 5 mile hike today, sore as heck but totally worth it. It’s beautiful. There’s a long stretch of beach at the end of the trail and walked that entire thing too. Palpitations not as bad today. Headache still there. A crab tried to attack me. #thyca #thyroidcancer #migraine #cancer #thyroidcancersurvivor #fitness #palpitations #timetotakemylifeback #success #change #adventures #timeforcrab #scenery ift.tt/28SOpBl
