Tim lives in Rocky Hall, ‘more a locality than a town’. It has no shops or post office, but it does have a community hall, used for ladies embroidery meetings, and the annual Christmas party, which everyone in town comes along to.
He was an escapee from the city when he moved to the south coast at age 27, after spending his early twenties hanging around inner-city Sydney as a student, raconteur, and jack-of-all trades.
He adjusted quickly to country life, learning about farming, fencing, how to plant trees & make them survive. ‘The main skill I brought with me from the city was my talking skill’. By 28, he had bought his own farm.
His partner Sue also moved down with him from Sydney, and she found it much more of a culture shock ‘I don’t think she came out of the caravan for the first 6 months, but in the end, she thrived, and has probably reached greater heights than I have.’ She learnt wine making, and now makes wine from the grapes they grow on their property at Rocky Hall, and also makes wine for Tilba and Mimosa Rocks wineries.
Tim seems very relaxed and laid back, but he and Sue have clearly worked very hard to build a satisfying life for themselves on the south coast.
Everyone wanted to take a pic with Jesse! (Tim said, "Hey I am famous too!" when he saw that Jesse was taking away all the attention :) )
My friend Tim had his 1961 VW Minivan catch fire an burn to the ground. His replacement work van is this old Lance Cracker Delivery Truck (that is him behind the wheel).

I was asked to shoot Shelby Irey Miss Sacramento International 2011 for her Miss California portfolio. Then the local Fox morning show asked if they could com along. Turned it to a full morning about budget photography.
