This was the wedding of my life-long friend Kirsty and her new husband Tim.
This was a moment during the speeches.
Tim is the twin brother to my Liz, the wife of my nephew Joe. He came down from New York to Timmy's birthday in New Jersey.
Tim Horton's store #1 is in Hamilton, and Dundas is connected to Hamilton so I convinced Rachel to go there with me. Six years of working with the company has led to a fascination.
Tim Hortons is a life saver during a summer storm. No, really. But it's better during a snow storm... Am I right, fellow Canadians?

I am 'smiling' in some in an attempt to show my broken front tooth. Damn. That is going to cost some. Fortunately it was the tooth that I had already killed, and had root removed, at age 12 after playing doubles table tennis.
I was riding along side the Kamo River in Kyto on a rental bike. The bike had a short wheel-base/crossbar and I had extended the seat post up to its highest extent. The bike had fat mountain bike tirers, and really good brakes. The path sloped down to go under a bridge and for a split second I thought, aha, perhaps this is a staitcase and braked. Due to the short wheel-base, the effectiveness of the front brake and my speed, I did a reverse wheely, and dived into the concrete head first. Blood spurted out into my glasses. A very kind jogger coming the other way looked horrified and said, "shall I call an ambulance," I said "How bad it is?" and he said "Pretty bad." Bearing in mind the fact that blood had spurted out onto my glasses and that I had just dived into the concrete path at 30kmph I decided that an ambulance was in order. The kind gentleman waited for the ambulance to arrive. He kept telling me to sit down but I was all hyped up on andrenaline and was in no mood for sitting. I walked back and forth wondering when I would feel nauseous (the first sign of brain bleeding I believe) pushing my front tooth back into position.
The ambulance took me to Kyoto University hospital where a team of about 4 doctors and apprentice doctors stitched me up. I don't mind having a small scar. Two days later the wound is healing well. The CT scan showed that I have no brain bleeding and a thick un-fractured skull. If it were not for my broken tooth it would have been quite an interesting touristic experience.
Tourists beware. When renting a bicycle check out what happens when you brake, at a low speed.

Tim is a plumber working on a large construction project in Downtown St. Petersburg. He's 35 years old, has awesome dreads and was a fantastic model. I just wish I had framed the background better.
