The fog releasing it's choke on this Sonoma County hillside and revealed this beautiful scene to me. The Live Oak grabbed my attention and the fog framed it nicely for me to photograph.

Taken at Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Netherlands, at the end of a very dark and rainy day. The sun popped out for a few minutes (at 6:30 p.m.) and this was the best I could do under the conditions. The image is straight -- it's the windmill that "tilts". If in the Netherlands, this is "must-visit" place to see nineteen 250-year-old plus windmills all in one great location. View On Black

The only time I woke up at the crack of sunrise - well worth it, I think. This was the view from the back of our bed and breakfast.

The rose coloured sky and relfection of light on the white houses makes is worth getting up at the crack of dawn.
