Victorian Floor Tiles.
The church was declared redundant as a place of worship in 1975. It was subsequently used as a gymnasium but more recently has been used for exhibitions and antiques markets. Much of its stained glass dating from the Victorian era was destroyed by enemy action in World War II.
i finally finished it...center is marble. i also used slate, a row of grease-spot colored glass and the brown tiles i made from bondo!

A Tile souvenir I got when i was in Portugal. The tile says "Fado" meaning fate which is a style of music that originated in Portugal. It has a specific art style to it as well from the native area. The tile displays an identity of the Portuguese ethnicity based on their music culture.
Five tiles from Xiuding Monastery, Anyang. Earthenware, 7th century Tang dynasty.
From the ROM description:
"Most Chinese architecture featured wood construction, but Buddhist pagodas were generally made of brick or stone. They contained relics, but also served to mark a temple, as church towers do in the west.
"These relief tiles are part of the nearly 4000 tiles which covered a pagoda near Anyang. They were shaped in moulds, using 72 different designs. The diamond-shaped tiles are the most numerous and varied."
These tiles were on exhibit in the Karatay Medresesi. I found them interesting because they showed figures of people and animals. When I asked why these were here, the comment was that these were likely from a palace location, rather than a mosque.
