Lovely tilework from the foyer of an abandoned apartment building.

An individual quality of tile tables, or tile furniture would have to be the obvious beauty of the tabletop. Unlike other furniture mediums, tile furniture offers a durable and creative surface that can be colorful and unique.

This featured table above is a great example of blending shape and also color for an attractive piece of tile furniture. Perfect for a garden setting, or adding some decorative accent on a porch or patio. along with a colorful top ( 3"x3" Blue Cayman Dolphin Tile), some unique decorative metalwork adorns the frame, represented in the bottom border detail of this table.

6x6" tile, made in Japan - I think the decoration is a combination of printed and hand-applied. The gold and, to a lesser degree, the green enamel are somewhat raised above the surface, and the dots/lines are not uniform, leading me to believe they were added to the base design by hand.

The Lettered Olive is a large sea snail and the State Shell of South Carolina. Often used to make jewelry by colonists and early Native Americans, the Lettered Olive shell is found on beaches from North Carolina to Florida and the Gulf States. The tile features the olive in reddish-brown on a background of pale yellow. It measures 6 inches x 6 inches, is made with fired ceramic glazes and is dishwasher safe.

Tile edge bought at tile sale,l have a couple but not sure how this will go . Mesh from friend who works in plaster. l am using welbond glue and hope to put a couple of these on the bricks over bbq.Trial and error at this stage.

Along Augustusstrasse in Dresden heading away from the Zwinger is this pretty impressive ceramic tile mosaic... 2 stories high and stretching for about 100 yards end to end. Painstakingly crafted from world-famous Meisen ceramic tile... it depicts a highly-detailed procession of Saxon kings and dignitaries throughout the ages. Amazingly... this wall almost completely survived the bombing of Dresden in 1945.

These tiles were on exhibit in the Karatay Medresesi. I found them interesting because they showed figures of people and animals. When I asked why these were here, the comment was that these were likely from a palace location, rather than a mosque.

The tiles on the fountain in the Plaza de Espana are lovely. Each side of the fountain is different.
