I clicked this one ages ago, but 4got 2 upload it! These r 'tilguls', traditional marathi laddoos eaten on Makar Sankranti day.
These colourful little sugar candy balls (called til gul) are exchanged with friends and family in certain parts of India for Makar Sankranthi which is a celebratiuon of the solstice.
In Maharashtra on the Sankranti day sweets are prepared from Til (sesame) and Gul (jaggery) which warms your body. Its an occasion to visit near and dear ones and distribute tilgul saying "Tilgul ghya, god god bola" that means "Take a tilgul and talk sweet as it". The under-lying thought in the exchange of tilguls is to forget the past ill-feelings and hostilities and resolve to speak sweetly and remain friends.

Sankranti or Sankranthi marks the transition of the Sun into Makara rashi (Capricorn) on its celestial path. Traditionally, this has been one of many harvest days in India.Maghe sagrati(Nepal).
Owing to the vast geography and diversity of culture in India, this festival is celebrated for innumerable reasons and in innumerable ways depending on the climate, agricultural environment, cultural background and location. On this day children fly kites.RA's info:)
the rosé was a bit thin... like a slightly bitter chardonnay with food colouring, like flat champagne with a hint of rose hips... like i am not sure we are going to finish the glasses...
but i must confess, one needs to find a better rosé in order to impress.

Makar Sankranti is one of the most auspicious occasions for the Hindus(it celebrated on the day when Sun enters northern hemisphere), It is a harvest festival. Makar Sankranti is perhaps the only Indian festival whose date always falls on the same day every year i.e. the 14th of January.
In Maharashtra(India) people celebrate Makar Sankranti by sharing sweets called "TilGul", newly married women celebrate this festival by wearing new cloths gifted by husband and ornaments(made up of sugar).

Tilgul is a healthy Indian snack made of sesame seed and jiggery, full of vitamins calcium and iron. If you want to have a sweet after dinner with your diet food tilgul is the best option.
