This wasn't the right day for long exposures, but the light was dull and the clouds were moving quite ok. So I had to try. The problem was the never ending showers of rain and sleet. This one came out ok, despite wiping the filter all the time.
Sunrise on the Hudson River at low tide. Fall colors are very late this year. You'll notice the tree to the right has very few leaves changed to red. Just been a weird year.
So this is the south side of the Dutch Island Terschelling. A co-incidence that it was low tide where neat small islands popped up. The atmosphere with no wind and high temperatures made it a great summer feel. The next day I biked up here with my family, all was covered with seawater. Thanks all for your comments and favs
This is 'Ebb Tide' - a floribunda rose.
Bred by Tom Carruth in the USA, in 2004.
Deep purple, almost black buds open to reveal double, medium size, old fashioned, blooms of velvet purple that are intensely fragrance. Deep green foliage. Just over 1m tall.

A peaceful evening from the archives. I rarely shoot sunsets: usually walking our dogs when we lived in Alaska. This one caught me off guard. High tide at Cook Inlet. The Alaska Range with its year-round snow-covered peaks, including Denali, curves across much of Interior Alaska and can just barely be seen far left on the horizon. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cook_Inlet
Manual exposure, belly shot.
Thank you for all of your previous comments. Reminder: In January 2022 I asked for help, and a Flickr support hero removed both of my accounts from the Explore algorithm. I feel more relaxed.
Shot with the Olympus E-M1, Mark ii on Aquinnah beach in Martha's Vineyard. The Elizabeth Islands can be seen far off in the distance.
Spring tides have nothing to do with the season, but are more to do with the moon’s cycle. With all that said, the trees were blossoming, the tide was high, and the full moon had just set. So by all accounts, a Spring Tide!
Shot at Barton upon Humber, looking towards the Humber Bridge around sunrise during official Golden Hour.
