Tourism and Cruise Ship Business was booming in 1980. Soon this would change, as the refineries caused environmental issues. The refineries would soon close down or sell out, and this also caused a decline in tourism. ESSO closed in the early 1980s and Shell sold to Netherlands' government for half a dollar, on condition that Shell would not be held liable for any environmental issues after 70 years of oil refinery

It has been a wonderful journey to be part of, to see this state-of-the-art acute hospital get to this stage, with just one week to go till it is open for business!
