I wanted to do another pic related to sewing since so many of you out there enjoy it!! I thought this went pretty well with the thread pic I posted recently (see below).
"Macro Mondays" theme "Needle and thread"
Thank you very much for your views, faves and comments!
I really appreciate it !
Humankind has not woven the web of life.
We are but one thread within in.
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.
All things are bound together. All things connect.

Smile on Saturday! :-) - Thread
For 'Macro Mondays' theme of 'Complementary Colours'.
A very obvious subject for this weeks theme.
No trouble in finding the the reels of thread - too much choice really when I looked one of M's collections.
The 'orange' is one of Dewhurst's TRYLCO terylene threads and is described as 'Flame' coloured.
The 'blue-green' is a Coats' DRIMA polyester thread of no specified colour.
The needle - the bigest I could find cos I had to thread it, has obviously seen better days.
And I have put everything back where I think I found it - there will be trouble if I haven't. !!

Like thread through a needle, the westbound RIO GRANDE ZEPHYR passes through Tunnel 29 just east of Cliff siding, west of Denver, on June 30, 1979.
As the RS71 approaches Ronkonkoma station, the engineer slows the train to a 5 MPH crawl as they pass the KO 2E signal. NYAR freights with plate F cars in the consist are restricted to 5 as they pass through the station, presumably due to the presence of platforms on both sides of the tracks.
For MM theme; "Needle and Thread".
(Sewing an Amish Bonnet, is such a relaxing pastime - ruffles and all.) HMM!
My second Twirl attempt, they are fun. And seeing as we are not allowed outside I have far too much time doing nothing.
:-)
I used my photo below in the first comment to create this Twirl.
Happy Sliders Sunday, processed to the max.
Took this photo in Greece, no idea what it is called, anyone know? Thanks
Thanks to Mark I now know this is a Thread Lacewing

I guess they might only be visible on a large screen, but there are tiny threads attached to this plant, left by spiders as they travel from flower to flower. I'm afraid I don't know the name of the plant, but at least it's not Helenium. I'm conscious that I'm a bit obsessed with Helenium at the moment, so I thought I'd better post something different today. :)

The Moirai or Fates were three sister deities, incarnations of destiny and life. Their names were Clotho, the one who spins the thread of life; Lachesis, she who draws the lots and determines how long one lives, by measuring the thread of life; and Atropos, the inevitable, she who chose how someone dies by cutting the thread of life with her shears. They were often described as being ugly and old women, stern and severe. Three days after a child was born, it was thought that the Moirai would visit the house to determine the child's fate and life. (www.greekmythology.com/Other_Gods/The_Fates/the_fates.html)

Un bellissimo cielo doppio, dalle parti del passo Giau.
Buona serata :)
The shallow DOF here allowed for the focus to be right where the thread is through the hole. Fun with the macro lens.

I was waiting for that full smoky moon to rise above the trees the other night. I was on a foot bridge so I shot the moon through the bridge while I waited.
The older I get, the more impatient I am. Should be just the opposite.
Handmade, mixed media: paper, glue, acrylic paint, permanent markers, metallic paint markers, sewing thread, polyacrylic sealer on stretched canvas.
Completed: 2018
Canvas: 8X10 inches; with frame, approximately 10X12
I have spent most of the last 2 years experimenting with mixed media. I have a ton of art supplies, some new, some decades old. I've been combining them any way that comes to mind.
With each new artwork, I add more ideas & notes to my sketchbook. I'm sure I will never have the time to use up all of my supplies, nor use every idea.
Looking close on Friday theme: Spools of Thread!
Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊
We are all beads strung together on the same thread of love.

A thread-waisted wasp. I could not find much information about this colorful insect. Quite striking with the bold orange and black pattern.
