Thin Lizzy at Newcastle City Hall on 12th April 1979 taken with my Zenith E using a 125mm lens. I scanned these from the original negatives which I recently found, so much better than the pictures I got at the time most of which had a red cast to them. This was the 4th and last time I saw the band

Spotted this tribute to the Rock Band 'Thin Lizzy', on the side wall of the Rabbit Room's Bar (see inset) in Bangor, Northern Ireland. Though Thin Lizzy hailed from Dublin, they were obviously popular all over Ireland. The Legend lives on!

It would have been good to find a wall with miraculously preserved posters of these 80's shows, but this is part of the street dressing for the Sam Mendes film, Empire of Light, being filmed at Margate.
‘Nightlife’, my favorite Thin Lizzy album.
From Wiki: Nightlife is the fourth studio album by Irish rock band Thin Lizzy, released on 8 November 1974 by Vertigo Records. It was produced by Ron Nevison and bandleader Phil Lynott. It was the first album to feature the band as a quartet with newcomers Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson on guitars.
Some reissue CDs, and occasionally other sources, spell the album title as Night Life, the same as the song title. However the original album title is Nightlife.
The song "Philomena" was written for Lynott's mother.

When I was photographing people for the 100 Strangers project I found some of my models had famous names: Richard Burton, Paul Newman etc and I remembered one of my lecturers at Uni introduced himself as The Real Richard Burton because the other is an imposter, Richard Burton the actor’s real name was Jenkins.
Taken in the pouring rain at the Phil Lynott tribute statue, Harry Street, Dublin. A big generation gap but both joined in their love of music. Today, yesterday, tomorrow, same as it ever was.

Wall mural based on the famous 1974 photograph of the boys messing about in one of Laird's boats in Bangor harbour before their King's club gig. The 1974 line up, left to right: Brian Robertson, Phil Lynott, Brian Downey and Scott Gorham. The Rabbit Rooms, Croft Street Bangor, it's a shame the door couldn't have been incorporated into the mural.
My wife's Nonno was a little Italian guy so he needed some help painting his house in San Francisco in the 1950"s...obviously his neighbor is a supervisor...we both grew up 2 blocks from here, one block from each other...
My first rock concert back in 1982. Thin Lizzy live in Holstebro.
The picture was taken with my old Minolta X-300, with a Hanimex 200mm lens. The film used was an Ilford XP1, exposed as 3200 asa.
