Taken for the Macro Mondays theme of buttons. Sadly this little face desperately needs some dental work but due to Covid hasn't been able to get to the dentist and is now suffering from extreme tooth decay!
This year the Famous Flickr Five+ Group have decided to change their monthly challenge from "Five On The Fifth" to “Freestyle on the Fifth”.

Macro Mondays theme Garnish
This is a sliced apple swirl on a cocktail glass with a rim covered with sugar and lemon peel (although you can't really see the sugar lemon peel).
It's tough to take decent macros of food so they look like they are in context.
The width of frame is just within the 3 inch rule for the group but I cropped it down a little further just to make sure it was as macro as possible.

One of my favorite photos I've ever made. I frequently photographed the bees writhing amongst the stamens fallen in clumps on the petals of my Southern Magnolia's flowers. This little feller actually fell off the petal while clutching an armful of stamens as he fell, but of course quickly righted himself and flew back onto the petal. Just an awesome capture for me. A seventy plus year old Christmas tree ornament discovered along with many others in the attic of Pam’s mother who passed at 99+ April, 2022. Ornament is slightly under 2 1/2 inches. Composition cropped to just under 3 inches. Sidelit in soft box with glitter paper background. iPhone flashlight aimed toward background glitter paper. Square.
Continuing this week's 'Spitfire' theme - here is a profile view of a Spitfire Mk 1. A key feature is the barely perceptible, tapering, twist to the wing. The leading edge points upwards by 2 degrees where it joins the body, reducing to half a degree at the tip. This subtle twist greatly improved the handling for pilots, but made the structure far more difficult to manufacture. The wing was the design of Canadian-born aerodynamicist Beverley Shenstone, an unsung hero of the Spitfire story.
This aircraft carries the Eagle Squadron badge. Three RAF squadrons were formed with volunteer airmen from the USA in 1940 before American entry into WW2. About 240 men served, of whom around 100 perished. In Sept 1942, the US airmen transferred to the US 8th Army Air Force. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagle_Squadrons

This is a Japanese salt shaker, that's part of a set. I tried a 50-shot focus bracketing for this macro, which probably caused the background blur across the upper portion. Actual size is about 5 inches.
