45:52 The Kitchen
When I was visiting Monique in Alberta, she taught me how to shoot and process high key, something I've been struggling with for years. So I thought I would use it for this week's theme. I shot this in my light box hand held.
Sorry if I didn't get to you yesterday. I had major Flickr and internet problems. Hopefully it won't happen again today...
Hope you're having a great weekend, and thank you in advance for your support and all your awesome comments :)
As seen along the way in NYC. Work progressing nicely at the Kitchen. Chelsea, New York City.
The Kitchen is a non-profit, multi-disciplinary art and performance space located at 512 West 19th Street, between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. - Wikipedia
This is the kitchen at Heart Castle and my favorite shot of the trip. Loved the light, the brass faucets and the wonderful vintage feel. Happy Monday gang!!
In a world that is always in constant flux, one thing that is guaranteed is when I walk in to the kitchen first thing in the morning; there is always going to be exotic and/or familiar aromas.(and blues or rock 'n' roll music) Today it's empanadas and Robert Johnson.
🔥🔥🔥
In this copper jam pot "Bassine à Confiture" I have been cooking jam for many years. Here it is on my wood stove "Näfvekvarn" in cast iron in my cottage. I use the stove from October to April both for cooking and to keep the kitchen warm. Leaning against the wall is a brass tray that I inherited from my mother. I got the Japanese iron teapot from my husband.
My contribution to ”Fotosöndag” on the theme "metal".
A blackbird pie funnel, a modern replacement for my beloved vintage blackbird which vanished. It had obviously had enough after 50 years of pie service with myself and my Grandmother, and flew away.
A pie funnel is placed in the middle of the filling and the pastry is placed on top with the top of the funnel poking up through the crust to allow steam to escape and stop the pastry becoming soggy.
Been going through photo archives lately improving organization. Some old images have caught my attention, so I thought I'd see what I could do with them. This is from a 2007 daytrip to Pasadena with my old Canon G6.
It's a nightmare of boxes and strange things strewn about the floor. But look at that light coming in through the laundry room window. Soon, this will be our kitchen.

I could get used to this.
but we know I won’t.
because I know I can’t.
I awoke at 9 am from Seb and Nina talking and we spent another 4 hours in bed just hanging around and being really really lazy. having breakfast apparently wasn’t the best idea because afterwards I started to feel extremely nauseous and had to stay in bed a bit longer after the two of them had left the house.
when I felt better I cleaned up a bit and then went home, where I spent a few hours editing all the pictures I have been ignoring before.
I lived on water for the rest of the day and I miss jumping on the trampoline.
Tribute to my dear mother-in-law, R.I.P. Many a delicious meal came from this humble kitchen.

9/52 Weeks For Pix: The Kitchen
Okay these challenges are stretching my abilities. My camera does not take great in-door shots, and it's not usually the place I take photos-- but I tried. Sort of bland photo, so I jazzed it up with fractalius filter. But I ended up sort of liking the fractalius effects on all the reflections of the lights. And this photo shows the feature of my kitchen everyone always does a double take about-- I have two microwaves. I work long hours-- and so I'm big on microwaving left-overs.

Things & Stuff.
We have just returned from the mud/cobra
field and it's time to make a K9 breakfast.
You can see the three dog bowls ready
to be filled with special food 4 the dogs.
The kitchen is in a separate building
from where we live which keeps the
heat away from our living quarters.
Another small slice of jungle life ;-)
