Waiting On A Friend_The Rolling Stones
Watching girls go passing by
It ain't the latest thing
I'm just standing in a doorway
I'm just trying to make some sense
Out of these girls go passing by
The tales they tell of men
I'm not waiting on a lady
I'm just waiting on a friend
A smile relieves a heart that grieves
Remember what I said
I'm not waiting on a lady
I'm just waiting on a friend
I'm just waiting on a friend
Just waiting on a friend
I'm just waiting on a friend
I'm just waiting on a friend
I'm just waiting on a friend

The rain stopped this morning, so I was hoping for a cloud-filled sunset…
Guess you can’t always get what you want… but if you try sometimes you might find you get what you need.
Thank you Mick and Keith for the music… it still rocks me :)
In this time of quarantine and confinement, I've rediscovered The Rolling Stones. I remember that my father used to play a lot the LP Hot Rocks 1964-1971. They are really amazing. Don't know if they are greater than The Beatles, but their legacy will be long-lasting.

My very life today
If I don't get some shelter
Oh yeah, I'm gonna fade away..."

Happy Monochrome Bokeh Thursday, everyone!
"Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the U.S. Mail
Say it with dead flowers in my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave
No, I won't forget to put roses on your grave"

[TheRollingStones - Love is strong.]
Your love is strong and you're so sweet
You make me hard, you make me weak
Love is strong and you're so sweet
And someday babe, we got to meet
A glimpse of you was all it took
A stranger's glance, it got me hooked
And I followed you across the stars
I looked for you in seedy bars
What are you scared of, baby?
It's more than just a dream
I need some time
We make a beautiful team, a beautiful team...
“Yes, star-crossed in pleasure,
the stream flows on by
Yes, as we're sated in leisure,
we watch it fly, yes
And time waits for no one,
and it won't wait for me
And time waits for no one,
and it won't wait for me…
Drink in your summer,
gather your corn
The dreams of the nighttime
will vanish by dawn
And time waits for no one,
and it won't wait for me”

Charles Robert Watts, better known as Charlie Watts, born 2 June 1941 was an English drummer, best known as the member of the Rolling Stones from 1963 until his death, this Tuesday, 24, August in 2021.
Originally trained as a graphic artist, he started playing drums in London's rhythm and blues clubs, where he met Brian Jones, Mick Jagger, and Keith Richards. In January 1963, he joined their fledgling group, the Rolling Stones, as drummer, while doubling as designer of their record sleeves and tour stages. Watts, along with Jagger and Richards, are the only band members to have been featured on all of their studio albums.
In 2016, he was ranked 12th on Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Drummers of All Time" list.

Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I'm gonna miss you..."

Sticky Fingers is the ninth British and eleventh American studio album by the English rock band The Rolling Stones, released 23 April 1971 on their new, and own, label Rolling Stones Records. It is considered one of The Stones' best albums. It was the band's first album to reach number one on both the UK albums and US albums charts. The album is inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame and included in Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.
According to Jagger and Richards, the song "Wild Horses" was about the usual thing of not wanting to be on the road, being a million miles from where you want to be.
Wild horses is one of my all time favorite songs.
This is my tribute to the song and the album
Happy 50th anniversary, Sticky Fingers!
"Childhood living
Is easy to do
The things you wanted
I bought them for you
(...)
Wild horses
couldn't drag me away..."

Main was appearing with his Father Skud at Hangefest in Strathaven. Which had it's roots as a festival out at tone of the aircraft hangers at our local airfield which is for a glider club. It has since spilled into all the Pubs, cafes & restaurants in the town. It's a really successful event and draws people from all over into the town. Skud & Main Shaw are a couple of local musicians who play a mix of country & rock music. Including one of my favourite "Stones" tracks "Sweet Virginia". Not quite Glastonbury but great fun.

Have a wonderful week, everybody!
Mardi 24 Aout 2021 – Beaucoup de gens le regardaient de loin, voir de haut, même voir du coin de l’œil. Repose en rythme comme tu as toujours fait Mister Charlie.
Have you seen her all in gold?
Like a queen in days of old
She shoots colours all around
Like a sunset going down
Have you seen a lady fairer?...

This was the last Internet find from my Audio Magazine years (1979 to 1995). A review of The Rolling Stones album “Emotional Rescue.” Over all of those years, with Audio, I drew Mick Jagger and the Stones a number of times. They just always kept coming out with music. I hope that some more of my early Audio work pops up on the Internet. Fun for me to see again.
The Rolling Stones – Unzipped is the first ever international exhibition about the world-famous rock band.
More than 400 original objects from the band's personal archive provide an impressive glimpse behind the scenes of the Stones. Not only are instruments and stage designs on display, but also rare audio fragments and video material, personal diaries, iconic costumes, poster material, album covers and even their studio, their modest residence in Edith Grove in London and the spectacular Dolby surround experience of their concert from 2016 in Cuba.
