With most of the crate removed, the warrior will be moved by an electronic lifter, closer to its final display position. The display flooring is protected so that it isn’t marked during installation.

The warrior is moved by hand into its final position.

It takes six people to physical lift the crate housing a warrior, to an upright position.

The protective wrapping has been removed from the warrior’s hands, and Mr Fang quo Wei check's the warrior's final position for display.

The Great Court and the central Reading Room was converted to house the First Emperor Exhibition between November 2007 - April 2008. The museum built a mezzanine floor above the reading room desks to house the chinese exhibits which were the first time ever they had left the Qin area in 2000 years.

Parked in a side street near the Imperial College.

The First Emperor: China's Terracotta Army explored one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the twentieth century, giving an insight into China’s First Emperor, Qin Shihuangdi, and his legacy.

The exhibition included a number of the world-famous terracotta warriors from Xi'an, China, which were buried alongside the First Emperor in readiness for the afterlife, as well as some of the most striking recent discoveries made on the site.

In introducing the idea of a unified state and effectively creating China in 221 BC, the First Emperor of Qin created what is today the oldest surviving political entity in the world. The exhibition and related events explored how that state has survived, developed and is viewed today.
