Halloween is just round the corner.

Figured I should make some effort to bust out the freaky.

This is what happens when concepts go wrong.

Reverse mime?

It's just not a thing, looks creepy as fuck, which in a way kinda does work.

So I guess it didn't go too wrong.

Who knows....

It's quite a state of uncertainty.

Meh.

Many paths are long and difficult to overcome, but never impossible. Sometimes we have to leave things behind that are not good for us in order to come across new things that will make us happy again. It's always worth fighting as long as we don't give up on ourselves because of it.

“She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn’t supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.”- Rainbow Rowell

Well here it is, the last day of my 365 project. So much has changed, developed, and shifted in this past year. On August 25th 2015 I was facing the disappointment of not getting into an MFA program, I was passed over for a teaching job, and it seemed like I was facing a year on "pause" where my hopes and dreams would be put on hold. Instead of despairing I decided to take a plunge and do something I'd wanted to do for years, shoot a 365. Over the course of the project I met amazing photographic artists, made a mermaid tail, armor, and moth wings, taught photography as a professor, shot an editorial, got into the MFA program, and developed my craft further than I could have hoped! Thank you all for your support throughout this project!

This photo may not be an epic ending but it holds personal meaning for me. Due to health problems I never feel "well." Nausea, inflammation, anxiety, and fatigue are daily leaving me feeling like a shell of what I wish I could be. Beneath the surface my little world feels chaotic and heavy. But I believe that everything broken is beautiful, that there is strength in vulnerability, and that God has written our unique stories and circumstances for a purpose. I am God's artwork, I'm not created to "look nice" I am created to experience life deeply and "make you feel something" through the talents and shortcomings I have been gifted.

Make-up for this shoot was inspired by a collaborative work by Viola Nagy and Bianca Raffaela. Special thank you to Laryssa and my mother for assisting in this shoot.

While working on this painting I was listening to the Portuguese band Madredeus almost incessantly. Here is a video for one of my favorite songs by this group: O Mar

This was my last photo from Fort William First Nation Pow Wow. It was still going on as left but this was the end for me. The Jingle Dancer is getting a view of Thunder Bay.

Thanks everyone! It's been a fun project. I will bring Sally back for some visits, but for now, she's off for a new adventure.

I want to play again, but need to find just the right object. So for now, I'll be rooting for all your projects.

Good luck my friends!

What? That's not me? Close enough. Thanks for all the encouragement this 365 days. There were lots of birds, bugs, landscapes, a few portraits, and plenty of random stuff. I learned a few things, and had a bit of fun. Now onward to other things, many of which will include me, the real me, and my camera.

Stylistically inspired by some of Nannan Zhang's earlier work.

In Monte-Carlo looking away from the city into endless see, one of the best days came to the end as sun sets for the night...

The meadow has been lovely this year and I've enjoyed walking the dogs here most mornings before work. The farmer has cut and baled the meadow grass ... (to be continued next year!)

The End: it's been a great year with 365 and I have enjoyed doing 365 for the 2nd time now.

Congratulations to all my flickr friends who have completed the 365 project as well and more importantly for giving each other encouragement and helpful tips throughout the year.

Wish you all a very Happy 2014 and look forward to seeing many of you in 2014 groups :-)

Chasing down the last hours of summer, two friends briefly cross paths. Not a word was exchanged, but there was a look. Not necessarily a promise of things to come, but…definitely a look that signaled a change.

A “possibility” perhaps? Time will tell.

...of everyone, we'd walk behind while you would run.

Today, a legend leaves us. But it's not a sad day, no. It's a day to be like the Irish at a wake. To be like hippies in a field of mushrooms. To be like a blue whale in a sea of kelp. We soak it all in and we enjoy, for our friend, our love, our God even (well, Satan maybe) is all finished up today.

Mr. Sardonicus, you brought me great pleasure over the last several months. I know that we didn't get to start out together, and I know we weren't friends the whole time. I think back to the days where your icon made me think you were some snooty guy from France or something and I was never sure if I wanted to be commenting on THAT guy's shots. But alas, one day, you added your shot to TOTW during Elements week, and as you that day became one with the earth, I then became one with you.

In the words that I know Vic will use, you rock, "my friend"...and that, you truly are...my friend.

I'll miss your daily pics until you start year 2, but I know we'll still send each other sexy texts, so you won't be far from my heart.

X's and O's, your pal, Abe.

365 my own way done. One photo only every day in 2018. Maybe not particularly artistic but told my story to me.
