Europe, Netherlands, Rotterdam, Museumpark, Boijmans Van Beuningen depot, Perforated mirrors (slightly cut from all sides)
The Depot (aka the 'Collectiegebouw') of the Boijmans Van Beuningen museum is not exactly nearing its completion, but its iconic mirror-clad façade is already playing the panoramic role that was intended for it.
Its height is 40 m (as high as the adjacent tower of the Museum itself). The Depot will house 151.000 objects, will be accessible to the public ánd will feature a roof garden with a restaurant.
The building plans caused protests and later litigation. This ended with a verdict of the Dutch high court (Hoge Raad) here. The plans were changed and user restrictions were set.
The Depot will open its doors in 2021. Check out: this.
I don't know the name of the perforated mirror art installation at the bottom of the frame. It's a fav photographic object of mine.

Bill Tadros operated the Depot, a charming bar and grill on West Hickory, next to the present location of Cool Beans. The Depot even had its own train (electric), running on a track around the place on a shelf high above the crowd. Sadly, Bill started letting bad drinkers come in, and they effectively put a nice place out of business. The building is gone now, the site covered over by the Sterling Apartment Complex. You can find pictures of the Depot in various photos on this website.

While DM&IR 332 is the only steam locomotive at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in running condition right now, the three locomotives on the right (Duluth & Northern Minnesota 14, United States Steel 7, and Soo Line 2719) have all operated at the museum over the years. They were brought outside for display during 4014's all-too-brief visit.
The former Union Pacific Depot in Salt lake City (Utah, USA) was built in 1909. The station was known as the Union Passenger Station and provided joint depot services for the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake City Railroad and the Oregon Short Line Railroad. The depot served as Salt Lake City's railroad transportation center into the 1970s. The building has been beautifully restored and serves now as a music and party venue called 'The Depot'. The grand hall is freely accessible for the public. The wall painting remembers the railroad from Salt lake City to Ogden built in 1869 by the mormons for the former Utah Central Railroad.

Absolutely crocked at the moment so not getting out much - my daughter and her family are visiting so went over to the book shop at Weedon. Unfortunately there were too many stairs for me. Full blown PMR flare up, I think, so can hardly walk

"The Depot" is an Adelaide Fringe Festival location, built from shipping containers, wooden pallets and paint. Its name comes from being right next to the bus station. This area was decorated with some tissue paper pompoms hung from netting in the ceiling.
With the boys down at the Depot in Sheffield..
Good workout and now for a Himmy ride to work the long way round!!
You know how you never see super heroes eat food in movies.. This was also very hard, had to stalk him for almost half hour before I caught this moment.. finally, a shot of a superhero doing something normal.
Honestly, Gassy is one of the coolest dudes I've known.. takes pretty damn good pictures too when not carrying out his superhero duties. If you haven't already, you have to check out his photo stream here.
Hope you're enjoying your weekend.
