No I don't think you have to step on the snow mound, there is just a bit of space on sidewalk below it.
Just before the storm hit. I was standing in the water with an umbrella to keep a light rain off the lens. 111/365
Using the blue filter I thought the backdrop of the mural would make an interesting focus for an otherwise boring subject. The blue is dotted around the picture and despite the position I had to get in to take the picture I'm pleased that the arms of the seat are almost perfectly lined up...and their reflection on the seat make an interesting angle of shadows.
There needs to be an imagination before a bus stop is built!

Taken in response to FlickrFriday challenge "The Bus Stop". I took many a photo of various bus stops, but with the weather so drab and Spring refusing to show us any color, I was yearning for a little jazz than any of the photos I'd gotten. Then, this morning, as I got into my car I noticed a school bus - stopping - to pick up a neighbor kid. I couldn't catch that bus with my camera, but I caught this one! Shot with a Sony NEX-5T.
In bad or good weather, on a road in the middle of the desert, in a deep forest or in a bustling street… there is always a bus stop somewhere! Make sure to take a picture of it and share the experience with us!
Take your shot today or in the coming days and submit it to the group for a chance to be featured on FlickrBlog next Friday.

We call this location "The Bus Stop" because there is a bus stop right behind me. It's an amazing place on Kaneohe Bay where a number of small boats are moored. 217/365

At one time, people read the newspaper while waiting for the bus. Now they get the news, use social media networks and/or listen to music on their smartphones while waiting.

Bus stop, wet day, she's there, I say
Please share my umbrella
Bus stop, bus goes, she stays, love grows
Under my umbrella
...
Every morning I would see her waiting at the stop
Sometimes she'd shopped and she would show me what she bought
Other people stared as if we were both quite insane
Someday my name and hers are going to be the same

Was hoping for nicer weather to make this shot (and make it more appropriate for the song lyrics), but you play the hand you're dealt, and once I had this song and idea in my head, I really didn't want to fold.
Thanks again and as always to my lovely and fashionable wife Jenn for being my short-notice model, and thanks to Ian and Chris for lighting advice, strobe-holding, and hanging out with us in the snow and then at the wonderful bake shop up the street.
For the record, Jenn kept her name when we got married, and yes, this is often what the first part of spring is like in Edmonton.
