Textile Yearmarket in The Hague
Zaterdag 5 april 2008, kwam ik toevallig op het Lange Voorhout. Hier vond een bijzonder kleurrijk evenement plaats. De jaarlijkse stoffenbeurs "Stoffen spektakel". (zie link naar website) Een feest voor mijn fotografenoog. De komende week zal ik een aantal foto's van dit kleurenfeest uploaden. U bent gewaarschuwd.

Zaterdag 5 april 2008, kwam ik toevallig op het Lange Voorhout. Hier vond een bijzonder kleurrijk evenement plaats. De jaarlijkse stoffenbeurs "Stoffen spektakel". (zie link naar website) Een feest voor mijn fotografenoog. Ben nu bezig een aantal foto's van dit kleurenfeest te uploaden. U bent gewaarschuwd.
Het meet-up seizoen is weer los gebarsten en na de succesvolle meet-up in Naturalis vond ik dat het ook weer tijd werd voor een Leiden meet-up. De laatste was alweer zo’n 5 jaar geleden, toen veel van ons nog bij fotolog (vies woord) zaten.
De organisatie is in handen van Saskya en mij. De datum hebben we lekker ruim in de toekomst gepland zodat iedereen de gelegenheid heeft om die van tevoren met een groot rood kruis in de agenda vast te zetten. Hier komt hij, hou je vast……. De Leiden meet-up zal
worden gehouden op zondag (jawel, Joyce…) 13 juli 2008.
Het programma is nog niet echt bekend. Daar zullen Saskya en ik ons nog over buigen. Dus verdere details volgen nog. De waarschijnlijke ontmoetingsplaats is rond het middaguur bij Huis de Bijlen. Daarna volgt de traditionele stadswandeling met aansluitend voor degenen die blijven eten een diner ergens in een restaurant in Leiden.

The meet-up season has started again and after the succesful Naturalis meet-up I thought it was time to organize another meet-up in Leiden. The last one happend about 5 years ago when many of us were still at fotolog (dirty word).
The organization is in the hands of Saskya and me. The date has been planned well into the future so you can mark it with a big red X in your agenda. Here it is, hold on to your hats……. The date for the 2nd Leiden meet-up will be on Sunday July 13th 2008.
The program is still a big question mark. But Saskya and me will come up with something. So more details will follow later. A possible meeting point is around noon at Huis de Bijlen. Then we will go out for the traditional city tour and the day will be closed with a dinner at a restaurant somewhere in Leiden for those who are too hungry to head home first.

Performers: Penderecki String Quartet, Roman Borys, cello, Dancetheatre David Earl Quantifying Goethe presents an evening of music examining the influence of Wolfgang von Goethe on literature, music, and science. The program features the world premiere of award-winning composer Kotoka Suzuki s Quantum Quartet for the Penderecki String Quartet, plus interactive video, dancers, and a quantum computer!

I am happy to say I have finished and printed issue #3. This one is once again band photos and is focused on basement/DIY type space. 28 pages, full color. Photos taken between 2002-2008.
Bands included: Drunkdriver, Ampere, Yamoto, The Agenda, Pressure, Since By Man, Warhammer48k, Vampire Hands, Graf Orlock, Empires, Phoenix Bodies, Ten Grand, MC/VL, Ultra Dolphins, Pukers, Lightning Bolt, The Vets, The Fugue, Knife World, Shotgun Monday, Ganglion, Formaldehyde Junkies, The Yoleus, Ettrick, Get Rad, Sound Salvation and Binges. Taken mostly locally at New Granada, Alamo House, OxxxxHxxxx, and more. Only a couple out of town shots.
You can get these from me for $5 or mailed for an additional $2. Currently at Treehouse Records and Extreme Noise, coming soon to some more local record stores hopefully. I also have some copies of issue #2 available for $4.
