Since 1924 Macy's department store has

presented the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Macy's was founded by Rowland Hussey Macy who moved from Massachusetts to New York City in 1858 and established a store named "R. H. Macy & Co." The store's logo is a red star, which comes from a tattoo that Macy got as a teenager when he worked on a Nantucket whaling ship.

Anthony Frederick Sarg (1880–1942) was a German American puppeteer and illustrator. He was described as "America's Puppet Master”.
