In Canada we celebrate our Thanksgiving the 2nd Monday of October each year. So, wishing all my Canadian flickr friends a Happy Thanksgiving filled with time spent visiting friends and family and enjoying a fine feast :)

There is so much to be thankful for in this world and the beauty is, you don't have to look very far to find it. May you all be peaceful, happy, and safe. Sunset just out of the Grand Canyon, on our way to visit family for the Thanksgiving holiday. Been several years since I have been able to be home with my family for the holidays. Very thankful!

This will always be my go to Autumn shot and this was the best display of colors of the season during Thanksgiving weekend now covering the ground.

A splash of sunshine for Thanksgiving

Despite the cloud and forecast rain we decided to take our dogs for a walk at a local conservation park. Along the trail we ran into a number of wild turkey so being Thanksgiving Monday in Canada I thought it only fitting that I post a photo of a turkey :)

On Thanksgiving (and Christmas) I always put out peanut butter, peanuts and birdseed on a couple plates for the birds and squirrels. So far only one squirrel is interested. He/she took all of the peanuts.

A close friend gifted me slips from her plant a couple of years ago. This is the first time it has bloomed. She has since passed away and would be happy to see that it is blooming.

Often confused with the Christmas Cactus. The Thanksgiving cactus has pointed, claw-like edges on segments where the Christmas cactus has notched edges on segments that are smooth and rounded.
