This imaged emerged from the following method:

.

1) Gather several images (textures, type, forms, colours etc ) with your Smartphone (I use an iPhone) .

.

2) Blend images of textures together with #SuperimposeX.

.

3) Dip in #Procreate (taking advantage of the wonderful brushes).

.

4) Whizz in #iColorama

.

5) Glaze, ice and decorate in Procreate (using finer brushes)

.

6) Optional Step: Bake in a filter or texture using an app like #Mextures, #Stackables or #DecoSketch.

.

7) Allow to cool. (Leave your image for at least 8 hours so you can see it with fresh eyes).

8) Weave imagination between steps 1-7

Voila!

I love creating collages taking inspiration from everyday life and imaginings, mostly combining the two. I create all of my work on an iOS device, shooting images with my iPhone and then editing them on my iPad Pro using an Apple Pencil.

Macro Topcor 30mm, SOOC, wide opened (F3.5). Topcor bellows Type 1 + type 3 almost fully extended. I estimate magnification is more than 10:1.

I did not touched the images, so vignette done by Type 1 bellows and too long extension of them is clearly visible.

Multiple levels (parallel planes; rock surface curves down to right) of slickensided fault surfaces in an outcrop of Marron Fm. andesitic volcanic rock (in south-central British Columbia), with one of my fingers for scale. Above my finger, the lighter coloured material is a mineral vein (fluid flowed along a fault plane and mineral precipitated from solution) with a patchy distribution now because it is partly eroded away.

The slickenlines present have two different groove lineation directions, diagonal down to the left and down to the right in both the purplish-brown host rock and the light brown vein material. They record two different steep (sub-vertical) directions of fault motion at this site back in the Eocene (ca. 50 million years ago), a time of post-orogenic normal faulting in this part of western Canada.

it seems cacti love spring just as much as any other plant. the texture of those new...um, leaves on a prickly pear wouldn't exactly be the right word, would it? anyway, the whatever-they-ares were pretty cool up close.

We went for our afternoon walk at Dowse Lagoon, Sandgate yesterday afternoon. This entails a complete circuit around this lagoon which is currently showing the strains of drought. It’s a lovely walk on easier bicycle tracks and passes through some native trees and little boardwalks down to the edge of the lagoon to check on the birds in the remaining parts filled with water. Of course, I did take the wrong lens for birds and my big telephoto still hasn’t been picked up after a firmware update. Unprepared as usual except I was lugging a proper camera with me which is unusual on afternoon walks.

For some reason, at one point there is a big slab of rock beside the path, with no explanation of what it is or why it is there, despite plenty of other explanatory signs around the place. It’s obviously not a meteorite as it seems to have too much quartz (not that I am a meteorite specialist) and anyway, it’s so big, had it hit the earth it probably would have blown a hole bigger then, well, Dowse Lagoon! It sort of reminds me of one of those big old fashioned butcher shop blocks made from a good solid lump of tree truck that were common when I was a kid, except the surface is ripples like sand at the beach.

My back and my head reluctantly bent down to take a shot of the interesting top of the rock which was well back lit by the sun and this is exactly what I got, no editing. I was so impressed that I gave the camera a hug and a day off, being a good boss! It was still broad daylight but you wouldn’t know it would you.
