"Trumpeter Textures Triptych" by Patti Deters. Beautiful white swans (Cygnus, buccinator) are tucked into round little puffs as they do a bit of preening by reaching their beaks into wing feathers. These were photographed near the St. Croix River, in Hudson, Wisconsin, USA. Several soft pastel textures and overlays have been applied for a dreamy and artistic effect. Part of an 8-ft tall brick tower supporting a fairly good sized flower planter.
Those salt deposits on the surface of the bricks are the result of a natural process called efflorescence (the word comes from the French "to flower out"). That kinda makes this a total flower-power tower, eh?

During a visit to Rochester NY last year we visited the zoo. The rhinos were very photogenic - especially from the rear!!
