Saw this autumnal leaf lying on a thick green leaf last week just after a rain shower and really liked the contrast of colour!

My entry to "Looking close...on Friday" came as a surprise. I posted this photo without knowing of this week's subject. I think this pic shows the beautiful texture of the Clematis flower.
"Texture in Flora"
This is how a big Clematis flower looks when it is time to emerge from the stem with a new bud ;-)
This photo was taken in the Spring. Right now the garden is almost bare, other than a few roses here and there :-)

Rosebud is a pink Fancy Leaf caladium variety. Its pink, heart-shaped leaves just beg for a closer look. The medium green leaves have a bright, pink center and frosty white halo. Love the abstract patterns!

Looking close... on Friday! theme: Texture in Flora.
I love how soft the fresh new growth feels of evergreen trees - which is much different than the how the older, prickly needles feel. :D
Thanks very much for your visit. Have a great weekend and HLCoF!
The Looking Close on Friday's theme is "texture in flora".
There are 4 possibilities. I'm leaning toward this one bc it's up very close, colorful, and the dewdrops add interest :)
Should I have cropped it?

A picture portrait of a perfect profusion of pastel petals…
...or (more prosaically) another one of a dahlia .
This was taken at Ford Abbey in Somerset a few weeks ago where the dahlias lit up their autumn gardens. Interestingly (if you are into gardening) they don’t lift their dahlias but let them overwinter in the ground without much trouble, which sounds like a much more viable approach. We might try that because they are such a diverse and beautiful group of flowering plants.
This is for the Looking close… on Friday group’s theme today of Texture in Flora. I rather like the contrast between the silky petals and the rasp-like bunch of florets in the centre, but I have to admit it’s the colour gradient that really appeals.
I hope you have a good weekend, my friend.
Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Looking Close on… Friday, and Friday Flora :)

In México petals are eaten, the simplest way with scrambled eggs and of course with a chili sauce and tortilla :)
I know it’s not a macro but try to present the complete flower with its branches that lost the leaves.
