An authentic Irish road sign which is now a hard-to-find antique. Originally calibrated in miles, the Irish government began switching road signs to a kilometers measure about 25 years ago. These retired metalcast signs in miles have sat in in County Council yards or outbuildings ever since. Each sign weighs 9-12 pounds, depending on size (which varies by length of village name).

und in meinen Augen gibt es kein sinnvolleres. Hier bleib ich, genau an diesem Fleck, auf der kürzesten Verbindung zwischen mindestens vier Weingütern!
Our last stop in Ireland was Kilkenny. We fit a lot in during our time there. We saw Kilkenny Castle, Kilkenny Design Centre and National Craft Gallery, Shee Alms House, Rothe House and Garden, St. Mary's Cathedral, the Black Abbey, Kyteler's Inn for lunch, and St. Canices Cathedral and Round Tower. All of the sites were close to one another and within walking distance, which made it easy to see everything in one day!
It's on DoA :3 I have one for kigurumis, I though I might as well open one for casual clothes since I enjoy making those as well. ^_^

Water has long driven Westminster’s development and politics. In the early 1900s, residents dug wells or hauled water from lakes. Westminster incorporated in 1911, partly to develop a modern water system that included pipes and storage tanks. Rapid growth in the 1950s prompted an unsuccessful bid to purchase additional water from neighboring Denver. As a result, home rule was established in 1957, giving the City more freedom to secure its own water. In the 1960s, Westminster purchased rights to water in Clear Creek, with an agreement to store water in Standley Lake.
