Dyeing Pot: Heated Acid dyes are spooned over the wrapped pole for a good 15 minutes. The outer fiber will be dark and the inner layers will resit the dye to create a surprising effect which resembles wood grain or rippling water!

Modern interpretation of a toile pattern design referencing the 1957 film 'Funny Face' starring Audrey Hepburn. The film centres on a shy bookstore employee Jo (Audrey Hepburn) who has been scouted by a New York City-based fashion photographer Dick Avery (Fred Astaire) who he believes has the potential to become a successful model. He gets Jo to go with him to France, where he snaps more pictures of her against iconic Parisian backdrops. My toile design references the Parisian scenery and uses a mix of traditional painted media and digital elements to create my final design.
