This is a group of four handmade friendship bracelets arranged side by side. Each features a unique pattern in warm hues—reds, oranges, and browns—showcasing variation in design and structure.

This bracelet features a repeating fish pattern arranged in a rainbow color sequence. The structured symmetry enhances the clarity of each transition. It was made for my classmate and knotted from 8 strands of embroidery floss.

Quilted and hand dyed scarf with matching brooch.

Our Daily Challenge ... skill.

I first began sewing as a little girl, making dolls clothes. I became even more interested when I was teenager and made all my clothes and some for my sister, mother and grandmother. My Aunt, who I adored, was dressmaker and I often went to her place for the weekend and we sewed together. When my children were babies I did some dressmaking to make some extra cash. Once the children started school, I went back to teaching sewing and cooking. At night I went to TAFE doing sewing courses as a hobby.

Yesterday I needed to do a couple of repairs and had to buy a little repair kit!!

My friend's work includes this tightly knotted herringbone bracelet in deep autumn tones of red, orange, and brown. It was made using eight strands of embroidery floss and reflects her sense of color harmony and structure.

LLama and alpaca wool are used for sweaters and scarfs that tourists purchase at incredibly low prices in South America. It’s difficult to make sure that what you are buying is real alpaca versus a synthetic mix. Traditional Ecuador textile is best represented in tapestries and blankets.
