This helicopter was moving steel from a car park up to a rooftop and quite a crowd gathered to watch the skillful pilot do his job. I was going to show an image of the helicopter and a steel bar it was carrying but I liked this better, the idea that this huge machine is 'tethered' by that cable instead.

Looked like it would be easy to tumble into the sea

..... hv noticed that this tripod max. recommended load is 6kg and i've loaded on top of it 13.4kg !!!

This is how Miles spent many an hour at Cooper Lake. I tied a couple of ropes to the canoe and he'd paddle out until he reached the end and then pull himself back in. Great fun. That is Joel swimming way out there. The sun was warm but the water was cold. If I swam that far out I'd shrivel up and die.

Long days tied to my desk, and a lot of electronica on repeat.

At the end of a day's sailing we arrived back in the harbour at Solva. From the harbour wall I spotted this rowing boat. By isolating it in the water it creates a composition which for me is full of mystery.

I've resisted for a long time, but I broke down tonight. I officially own a cell phone.

Strobist: desk lamp, right above the phone.
