Quick tests between 70-200VR and 70-200IS. Results were surprising. 70-200IS focuses much faster, and the IS was more stable at 200mm. The VR lens was very sharp and benefitted from wider depth of field on the cropped D300 sensor. The DOF on the 5D's FF sensor is very shallow. The 70-200VR was an awesome range on a D300. The resulting range was 105-300mm.
Un interessante test di Panning letto su una rivista ove non e' il soggetto a muoversi, ma l'obbiettivo zoom! ..
Test shot while trying a used Pentax F* 300/4.5 I found at the camera department store at 鲁班路斜土路. I ended up not buying it because there was a large piece of dust inside and the price was way too high.

I wanted to try out the technique for both before diving into Christy's fabric. With the fabric I wanted to use from what she sent, I didn't have a lot (any) room for error. I like the way these came out!

What do you think of the framing (the added white border)? That is if you re able to see it...
My first test shots are always from my terrace. It's a good place to shoot from and I can compare image quality of one camera against another more easily. You can see Astoria, Long Island City, and Manhattan in this photo.
It was overcast and foggy. Later, it rained so I didn't go out and shoot. This is the widest angle, 28 mm. I bumped up the saturation for this shot. It looks better given the gray day.
