In geometry, the tesseract, also called an 8-cell or regular octachoron, is the four-dimensional analog of the cube. The tesseract is to the cube as the cube is to the square. Just as the surface of the cube consists of 6 square faces, the hypersurface of the tesseract consists of 8 cubical cells. The tesseract is one of the six convex regular 4-polytopes.
A generalization of the cube to dimensions greater than three is called a “hypercube”, “n-cube” or “measure polytope”. The tesseract is the four-dimensional hypercube, or 4-cube.
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word tesseract was coined and first used in 1888 by Charles Howard Hinton in his book A New Era of Thought, from the Greek “τέσσερεις ακτίνες” (“four rays”), referring to the four lines from each vertex to other vertices. Some people have called the same figure a tetracube, and also simply a hypercube (although the term hypercube is also used with dimensions greater than 4).

A gigantic igloo, thought to be the world’s biggest and spanning the equivalent of 3.5 double decker buses near Yllas village, Finland, was transformed into an ice stage for the world’s first gig on an igloo.
The show saw UK progressive rock band, TesseracT perform on top of the immense snow structure for the Jägermeister Ice Cold Gig, which puts artists to the test as they perform in unconventional, ice cold conditions.

Tree Abstraction Series.
See the Tesseract? Try looking at it undirectly and you might catch a glimpse.
Simply speaking, if you look to the side (or the bottom of the SW arrow) the central object appears to be a cube (actualy one cube inside another) but when you then shift your gaze to look at it directly you can no longer see it. Where did the possible cube go?
"Schrodinger's" because the act of looking directly seems to change it from possible cubes to not cubes. In this way it is analogous to the Schrodinger's Cat analogy.
"Tesseract" because when you look at it directly, the cubes seperate into disperate parts and/or different shapes. It's as if we are looking at the elements of a 4 dimensional object that can be seen in 3 dimensional space.
And btw everthing in the image that is not blue was previously a silhoutte of tree branches. See the first image in the series or the Black and White version to get an idea.
A friend of mine thought the BW versions of these were fractals. They seem fractal-ish only because the growth of the tree branches is fractal in nature.

inspired by one of my favorite children's books which is also just one of my favorite books, "A Wrinkle in Time." there was no description of an animal or image like this, but I'm sure this guy fits right in.
