Matchbox Tesla Model X, debuting last year as a mainline single and now appearing, quite rightly, in the new EV themed MBX Electric Drivers five vehicle set. A much more successful interpretation of this high selling SUV than the awful Moving Parts equivalent.

Well it looks like we are finally going to get a Matchbox equivalent of the HW Tesla Model X sometime in 2019 AND with opening gull wing doors too! :-). To be honest though I've never really had a problem with this casting, its actually not bad for a basic Mainline and its first few editions looked almost factory fresh in their colour choices and use of front and rear detailing.
This is its smart looking new recolour for 2018 complete with Tesla Energy branding and a deep glossy silver finish highlighting its striking and futuristic looks. Hopefully Elon Musks recent outbursts with one of the British divers and its hunger for more cash doesn't see the disappearance of this forward thinking car company!

The blatant copying of Hot Wheels products by a variety of Chinese toy makers shows no bounds as can be seen by this hilarious Tesla Model X knock off. Made by CYR it does replicate the actual casting quite well though it feels so light its hard to tell whether its body is made of metal or plastic!
The TESLE logo has obviously been deliberately spelt incorrectly to avoid any licensing issues though that might be of little effect considering the packaging does have the HOT WHEELS name and flame logo on it! Part of a 24 piece advent calender sourced recently from China. Mint and boxed.
