Brand new casting for 2022 Case D and one which cements the Tesla marque to both Matchbox and Hot Wheels brands. Much nicer than the earlier Moving Parts equivalent as this doesn't suffer from clumsy and ill executed opening doors.

Although the jury is still out with collectors as to whether this is a fair representation of the upcoming Tesla Model X I have to admit I really like it regardless. The wheels take a bit of getting used to and that rear spoiler appears to be pure Hot Wheels but overall its a crisply cast diecast with pleasing levels of detailing especially to the front lights and grille area and of course this shimmering pearlescent white finish is a great debut colour. One of quite a few i've managed to find in various ASDA stores recently. Mint and boxed.

This is definitely a love or hate model and I veer to the side of love, yes even with those retina splitting wheels! The motoring World is currently fixated with Tesla and so its no surprise that is mirrored at Hot Wheels who are now on their third Tesla vehicle in the shape of the Model X. I'm sure Matchbox would have done a better job but I really can't complain at the way this casting has been given some neat amounts of detailing to lights and badging and its second recolour does look stunning in this metallic maroon colour. Bought from Wal-Mart back in June. Mint and boxed.

Spotted this pair of Tesla cars parked up outside an event while on holiday in Japan. I'd never seen one before so had a look around them and got a few photos. Didn't manage to wangle a test drive though ;-)

Matchbox Tesla Model X, debuting last year as a mainline single and now appearing, quite rightly, in the new EV themed MBX Electric Drivers five vehicle set. A much more successful interpretation of this high selling SUV than the awful Moving Parts equivalent.
Found recently at Tesco.

No doubt the up coming Matchbox equivalent will leave this HW version trailing in its wake with its promised levels of better detailing and accuracy. What it probably won't do though is be available in quite so many new recolours in relatively quick succession, this is the second Tesla Energy themed edition in a matter of mere months! As ever that side logo means no detailing to the front where it really really looks odd and anodyne without them though at least the rear does get that much needed tampo treatment.
