Matchbox and Hot Wheels continue to champion the Tesla range of electric vehicles with an almost endless list of castings and recolours covering the entire modern line up. The unprecedented growth of Tesla in many countries clearly hasn't gone unnoticed and although many adult collectors bemoan so many EVs in Mattels arsenal, it is literally the future of mass transportation and there is no getting away from them.

In real life I happen to think the Tesla Model X is a big lumbering SUV but in 1/64 form I actually rather like it, particularly this basic mainline casting.

Tesla model X leverans dag

Tesla appears to not only be totally dominating the world of EVs but also the Mattel line up judging by how many of their castings they produce in both the Hot Wheels and Matchbox line ups. That fact does annoy many collectors but they are only responding to what they think a younger audience might like and one brand of vehicle they will be able to relate to in some way is Tesla, purely by how many of their vehicles they see on the roads.

I'm not a particular fan of Tesla cars in real life but quite like them in miniature form and to be fair to Matchbox they ensure each casting is as stock looking as possible.

Their Model X casting is still relatively new but already gets this glossy metallic maroon recolour for 2024 Case A.
