With Hot Wheels already making a Tesla Model 3 for a few years now and indeed Matchbox also having one in their Moving Parts line up you'd think there was no room for another!

Debuting in 2024 Case B is this brand new basic mainline casting and with the phenomenal sales the real vehicle is experiencing in North America and indeed Europe its probably no surprise Mattel wanted to cover all bases.

So many Tesla Model 3 seen on our roads are plain white it made sense for Matchbox to go the same way though theirs is actually a rather glossy metallic version which looks good. Alas, the casting itself is a mix of typical Matchbox budget brilliance and a touch of disappointment. I'm sure there is a deliberate manufacturing reason as to why its side windows are so narrow with very thick door tops but it really does spoil its side profile in a way which hasn't affected other Tesla Model 3 castings made by Mattel.

The Tesla Model 3 is a battery electric compact 4 door Saloon, designed by Franz von Holzhausen with a fastback body style. The vehicle is marketed as being more affordable to more people than previous models made by Tesla. The company plans for the Model 3 are part of Tesla's three-step strategy to start with a high-price vehicle and move progressively towards lower-cost vehicles, while the battery and electric drivetrain were improved and paid for through the sales of the Roadster, Model S, and Model X vehicles

The Model 3 was launched in 2017 and is built, in the USA in Freemont, California and in Shanghai China .

The Model 3 is powered by Permanent magnet synchronous reluctance electric motor with batteries of

57.5, 79 or 82 kWh lithium ion, previous batteries were of 54, 60, 62, 75, 78.1 kWh Rear-motor, rear-wheel drive

Dual-motor, all-wheel drive layout driving through a single speed transmission.

In 2020 the Model 3 was updated with interior and exterior changes, The most noticeable cosmetic change was that the previously chrome finished door handles, side mirror trim, window trim, and camera covers were given a black finish

A second more comprehensive update followed in 2023 in an effort to increase range, bringing a more aerodynamic nose along with a better rear diffuser and more aerodynamic wheels
