Its just the way it has to be, that choice view requires the perfect oak :) the other 99% get the darkness below. This is one of my favorite oak trees in Morgan Territory along the Diablo trail, an excellent choice for a backpack/bikepack trip!

Joshua trees are commonly referred to as the realistic version of Dr. Suess' trees called Truffula Trees. After a short hike into the thick of them, I found this rather creepy and monstrous Joshua tree.

Whitsundays 2014

this photo taken just after sunrise from a sand dune 30 min walk from the resort

Oh you just know she was right on the verge of making fun of my rather generously sized undies here. But fortunately for her, she had the very good sense to keep her yap shut. 😉

You know, I should explain that Daisy doesn't normally work on Sundays. But they had a bit of an incident and she had to go in for a couple of hours first thing. Unfortunately for her, she had already done her makeup for the day....so she had to strip it all off immediately afterward. And as if that weren't bad enough, due to the number of inquiries I've been getting lately I had planned to snap a few pictures of her yesterday to post. So she had to do it all over again when she got back. Hey, it was either that or have me take them without makeup. And you know our girl is WAY too vain to allow that...so it was back to the ol' makeup mirror for Miss Daisy. 😉

For now, signal territory starts and ends between here and Merrill Road some 11-12 mile ahead. Furthermore, there is a gap of about 10 miles west between here and MP 180 where the next signal lies. In the coming year(s) with both slated grant work and CSX taking over, TCS will be extended from MP180 through to Leeds Junction and create actual controlled sidings, as well as control the ability to line the switch at Leeds Jct. For now, it's business as usual on Pan Am as they get underway out of Danville encroaching on the dark hours of the day.

Overal vind je bronstkuilen en schuurplekken van de opgewonden mannetjes.

Ze doen hun uiterste best om de hindes voor zich te winnen.

Cats are very territorial animals. They need to feel safe in their space and they need it to be clear to other cats that they are, in fact, the owner of that space. The best-known feline territory marking behaviour is urine spraying: Males and females, can spray when they feel the need to plant “no trespassing” signs.

Scent is used to identify members of the same colony, define territory, create familiarity, announce sexual readiness, learn more about unfamiliar cats in the environment, self-soothe, bond with another, or as a form of covert aggression.

Rapid Creek, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia

Darwin /ˈdɑːrwᵻn/ is the capital city of the Northern Territory of Australia. Situated on the Timor Sea, Darwin is the largest city in the sparsely populated Northern Territory, with a population of 142,300. It is the smallest and most northerly of the Australian capital cities, and acts as the Top End's regional centre.

Darwin's proximity to South East Asia makes it a link between Australia and countries such as Indonesia and East Timor. The Stuart Highway begins in Darwin, ending at Port Augusta in South Australia. The city itself is built on a low bluff overlooking the harbour. Its suburbs spread out over some area, beginning at Lee Point in the north and stretching to Berrimah in the east. Past Berrimah, the Stuart Highway goes on to Darwin's satellite city, Palmerston, and its suburbs. The Darwin region, like the rest of the Top End, has a tropical climate, with a wet and a dry season. Prone to cyclone activity during the wet season, Darwin experiences heavy monsoonal downpours and spectacular lightning shows. During the dry season, the city is met with blue skies and gentle sea breezes from the harbour.

The greater Darwin area is the ancestral home of the Larrakia people. On 9 September 1839, HMS Beagle sailed into Darwin harbour during its surveying of the area. John Clements Wickham named the region "Port Darwin" in honour of their former shipmate Charles Darwin, who had sailed with them on the ship's previous voyage which had ended in October 1836. The settlement there became the town of Palmerston in 1869, and was renamed Darwin in 1911. The city has been almost entirely rebuilt four times, following devastation caused by the 1897 cyclone, the 1937 cyclone, Japanese air raids during World War II, and Cyclone Tracy in 1974.
