The lighthouse on Tillamook Rock was nicknamed Terrible Tilly as a result of the hardships endured by the keepers who kept her light shining for 77 years. Tillamook Rock is located 1.2 miles off shore. Even though the lighthouse was built 90 feet above the sea, during storms she receives horrific beatings from waves and boulders tossed up by the raging sea.
More than once storms shattered the windows of the tower and sea water ran down the interior like a waterfall into the living quarters. Not surprisingly the mental and physical health of the keepers was almost as a big a problem as maintenance of the structure.
Construction of the lighthouse began in 1880 and in 1957 the lighthouse was decommissioned. It was sold in 1959 and changed hands several times until it was turned into Eternity at Sea Columbarium in 1980. Prices for storage of ashes ranged $1,000 to $5,000. Only 30 urns were placed before the columbarium lost it's license due to improper storage of ashes and poor records.
Now part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge, the island and lighthouse is a seabird nesting spot. Given the trials described in the historical record, it is surprising the lighthouse still stands. For more information: traveloregon.com/trip-ideas/oregon-stories/the-my

I'm at a loss of words. What a terrible tragedy...
In March 2019 Bertrand de Billy conducted a wonderful concert at Notre-Dame, of the current and former choir of the Franklin school, in honor of Mr Roger Thirot, who had recently died.
During the rehearsal, I was able to take pictures, without any other visitors.
I dare not think about what this unique cathedral looks like right now.
She will be two next month- I think its coming!! And why is she soo mad? Cause I helped her put her pants on! Well excuse me little Ms Independent! Never again! lol!! :o)
Interior of a once lovely 1950's Spartan Trailer. Trailers were manufactured by the Spartan Aircraft Company from 1940's through 1950's. Birds are making themselves at home in the trailer now.
I am terrible with the names if flowers! I took these in Cleveland at the Cleveland Botonical Gardens.
An old photo from my travels that I liked.
The composition is relatively simple but the warm colors around a section of Piazza del Campo, accentuated by the sun against a deep blue sky looked rather pleasing to me.
As it was rather chilly, being winter, the people were seen basking in the sun's cosy rays in their coats. The scene gave the impression of warmth but I was there and remembered the chill.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this was a most lovely spot on this chilly wintry day.
Shot with my old trusty D60 with kit lens, unfortunately in JPEG only.
Interestingly, the colors on this antiquated D60 looked way better than those from my D7000 which frankly was terrible. Many have attributed this to the CCD sensor on the D60.
No polariser was used because back then, I didn't even know what the polariser was for!
Re-do with my latest post processing workflow, JPEG of one of the earliest photos I posted on Flickr, 4 years ago.

It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walkin' in
It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walkin' in
its quiet company, its quiet company
And I can't fall asleep without a little help
It takes a while to settle down
My shivered bones
Until the panic sets

The Wolf, the Crow, and the Shark
These three figures are based off the villainous trio who were generally part of Batman’s rouge gallery. My Terrible Trio is based more on their appearance in Batman the Animated Series; however some features were changed to two of the characters as to keep all of the parts purist (Fox became a Wolf, and Vulture became Crow). Their backstory will be similar to that of B:TAS, however instead of being small time criminals they are pompous aspiring terrorists.
The Terrible Trio will make their appearance in the next upcoming mission of Task Force X.

JL: "Hey sport, you home yet?"
.......that's a no. Sheesh, Wayne's working him hard....gah, what are you even doing up this late, you old fart? Go to bed.
Huh? What'cha got here, sport?.......a pole-thing. Looks like it extends. And....that symbol....wait, that the R that's on Robin's costume, that kid that runs around with Batman......this doesn't look like a toy. The current Robin's a girl, been seeing it all over the news. But just before I came back he was a boy.....Tim saved Wayne.....Wayne's parents were murdered, he'd have the motivation. And the money...and Tim had the time.....
My God......my boy's a hero......
Well, it's been just over a month since Barney had his FCE (spinal stroke), resulting in the paralysis of both his back legs. He gave us all a terrible scare but bless him, Barney has been a little superstar. Spinal strokes can happen in dogs of any age & even youngsters can take many weeks, or months to regain mobility. I was worried, given Barney's age & that he already has muscle wastage from arthritis, he'd struggle but as my dad said, Barney is "stoic" - he just keeps trying & keeps going!
In the days immediately after the stroke, Barney's back legs were totally non-functional - he had no feeling or awareness, couldn't move them or support any weight. By the end of that 1st week, he'd regained some feeling & the ability to slightly move his back legs - I'd tickle between Barney's pads & he'd kick my finger away, weakly at first but then with increasing vigor!
Since then, progress has been slow but steady. Barney is gradually regaining some movement & strength. The left hind is better than the right, but both are improving. He has a harness to support his back end & together, we "walk" around two playing fields most days. Early on, Barney's back legs hung limply... but then he began making swimming motions with them & now he's sort of at a limpy 3-legged hobble (hobbling is a good thing at this point!)!
Over the past fortnight, he's started actually using his left back leg. I see him place that paw down correctly & feel him weight-bear & push off with it. He still needs a lot of help, as he stumbles & misses steps but he's gaining confidence. Barney can also stand with minimal support & he's SO close to being able to independently rise to a stand. The main issue is that Barney still has limited awareness of where his feet are, so he knuckles over a lot but just in the last day or two, I've noticed that he's more frequently placing his paws the right way - pads down!
This pic was taken on one of Barney's "walks" in the fields. As you can see, he's bright & alert & keenly anticipating treats :) Barney will likely always need some assistance but I am SO pleased with the progress he's made already. The best old boy!!
"Le Enfants Terrible - The Kid Will Be Alright - I Love You"
for the Calendorks show this Friday at the ol Grass Hut
Barney is really terrible at catching treats, sometimes he doesn't even open his mouth, but when he does the pictures are hilarious :D
13 yr old Natasher Pratt who suffered terrible injuries when a stolen vehicle crashed into her fathers car on Aigburth road in South Liverpool, she is seen with cage fighter Paddy "the baddy" Pimblett who attended a special fund raising event at Liverpool Marina to raise funds for Alder Hey Hospital in recognition for their dedication to Natasher during her treatment.
I am terrible at headshapes for some reason. But wanted to give the new/free LeL head a try. And honestly.... Pretty happy with it. I don't need to by the Skylar head. I also threw all the make up my catgirl oc uses on him LOL. He even stole her skin
But he is still a wip
Firemen were close by to make sure spectators didn't wander in and to keep the natural fire from getting out of hand. These fires are common in the Yosemite Valley, particularly in the summer months.
If you look closely, the base is covered with sea lions and shore birds. This is a small crop, and the ocean haze is very prevalent in the smeared looking areas of the rock.
Woke up at 5 am this morning and went to the forest in Guelders (Veluwe, Gelderland). The light was terrible but I met a lot of wildboars and deer. Impressesive to see them standng between the blueberry bushes with their average 100 kilo (220 lb.).

we really are a couple of terrible nieces Kay and I. Poor aunty Janet tries to keep us in check and all lady like but all to no avail for we are just mischievous.
Had a really lovey even at Janet's last night with kay just chatting drinking and eating.
Darn got to cut this short as I need to pop out for a while
