Found these guys taking a summer holiday in New Zealand. They had been and will go back to be protecting the first Qin emperor in China and were tall at nearly 2 m and very lifelike despite being about 2300 years old and up to 300 kg in weight. I hope your New Year has started well.
Bagha Mosque (Bengali: বাঘা মসজিদ) is a mosque located at Bagha, 40 kilometres (25 mi) southeast of Rajshahi in Bangladesh. The mosque was built in 1523-1524 (930 AH) by Sultan Nusrat Shah, son of Alauddin Shah, the founder of the Husain Shahi dynasty. Later, the mosque was renovated at different times and when the domes of the mosque collapsed, the destroyed mosque was rebuilt in 1897.
The masonry of Bagha Mosque is made of lime and surki (powdered brick). There are arches and pillars inside and outside the mosque. There are also innumerable terracotta handicrafts which include mango, lily flowers, herbs and thousands of other handicrafts used in the Persian carving industry. Besides, there is a shrine of Shahdaula and his five companions on the north side of the mosque premises.

The terracotta warriors are in Virginia for a visit. To promote the exhibit, the Virginia Museum of Fina Arts has publicly placed imitation terracotta warriors like this one throughout the state.
Operating between 1907 and 1993, it was one of the largest and most important companies in the sanitary ware production sector. The area has recently been reclaimed and completely emptied, pending the forthcoming demolition or reconversion of the structures.
.. an old way to make pots, and an old plant-pot of mine. Cracked, but still I keep it - so much more interesting in every way than the plastic pots of today!
OK the ivy is in a small plastic pot inside the cracked terracotta ... but hey! ☺

Went to see the exhibition of the Terracotta Warriors in Richmond today, they are something to see. This is a replica in front of the poster for the exhibit.
For 120 pictures in 2020 #104 "terracotta", this is a terracotta garlic roaster we've had for many years. It doesn't get a lot of use, but I do still love roasted garlic. Now that I've dug it out I guess I'll have to use it, even though I'm pretty sure there are no vampires in the area.
