She's very discreet in the mauve sky, early this morning. Nice day to everyone !
Most pups tend to sleep off a rather large meal. This grey seal pup was very lively and a complete cutey... lots of engagement with the camera.
Donna Nook is a wonderful place to visit on the Lincolnshire coast. There tends to be a really biting cold wind coming in from the sea but you forget all that with the wonders of what is on that beach. My friend and I witnessed a birth and..... unfortunately lots of fighting between naturally protective mothers protecting their pups and males wanting their pick of who to mate with. Then of course there are the numerous pups who, when awake, will grace your camera with some lovely images.
Photographed at Donna Nook, UK

A rather poignant view of a tree among the moss covered remains of its neighbours. Taken in Barnes's Grove, Buckinghamshire.
When you're someplace beautiful and peaceful, a place that calms you and rejuvenates you at the same time, you tend to want to stay there, as long as possible.
That must have been how this lone boater on Diamond Lake was feeling at the time I took this photo.
I know I didn't want to leave.
It amazes me how the colors on Mt. Thielsen change depending on the lighting. Of course, that's Thielson on the left
I am neither addicted to death nor depressed, I am probably 'a bit or more' burnt out at the moment, yes I am.
I don't want to trivialise this. It is what it is.
In spite of all that, these days are a good time to think. About everything and nothing, even if I sometimes tend to brood...
And therefore also now:
A smile every day

This bird has two distinctive subspecies: T. m. maximus which lives on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of the North and South America. The royal tern has a red-orange bill and a black cap during the breeding season, but in the winter the cap becomes patchy. The royal tern is found in Europe, the Americas, and the Caribbean islands. The royal tern lives on the coast and is only found near salt water. They tend to feed near the shore, close to the beach or in backwater bays. The royal tern's conservation status is listed as of least concern.

παρειδωλια, pareidolia, dal greco : πάρα, parà, che significa vicino, simile ed είδωλον, eidolon, immagine.

Spotted this along a road I travel often - it was new and looks like the farmer who owned the land recently finished restoring it. A gorgeous truck, probably 100 years old or close to it.
Happy Truck Thursday!
So glad they're back in the same roosting tree like last year. Unfortunately they tend to get active quite late so long exposure and high ISO are needed. Bavaria, Germany
Le phare
Il a toujours été là
Comme érigé par les vents
Pour qu’il puisse être ce mât
Enchassé dans l’océan
Et même si des carcasses gisent
Comme des monstres de fer crevés
Au pied de ces tempes grises
Faites de sel sur les rochers
Il a l’oeil sur les ressacs
Colosse au squelette de pierre
Combien d’Ulysse loin d’Ithaque

This year our male BBBs have been roosting at night on a long twig on one of our camellia trees, however their favourite twig fell off the tree recently, as dead twigs tend to do. I was really happy to see them making use of this one last night!
I've been too busy for Flickr lately and am now going away for three weeks but will catch up with all my contacts towards the end of April.
A semi-aquatic mammal native to south and southeast Asia. These otters have sensitive and dexterous front paws which help them locate their prey when they dig around in the mud. Their diet consist primary of crabs, molluscs, frogs and crustaceans. They tend to live in pairs and can form family groups of up to 2 individuals and are the smallest species of otter in the word. Unfortunately they are listed on the IUCN Red List due to habitat loss, pollution and hunting.

London Docklands is an area in east and southeast London. The docks were formerly part of the Port of London, at one time the world's largest port. They were used since the Roman era. Once, the dock workers formed a number of tight-knit local communities with their own distinctive cultures and slang. Poor communications meant that they were quite remote from other parts of London and so tended to develop in some isolation. The London Docklands was bombed during the Second World War, and was hit by over 2,500 bombs. Between 1960 and 1980 because of the containerization, all of London's docks were closed, leaving around eight square miles of derelict land in East London. They have now been redeveloped principally for commercial and residential use.

The ruddy darter is to be found in temperate regions throughout Europe as far east as Siberia and as far south as the northern Sahara. Its conservation status is regarded as secure, and indeed numbers seem to be increasing in some locations.
This species tends to prefer quiet bodies of water that feature semiaquatic vegetation such as rushes and reeds.

For 121 Pictures in 2021 #121 "Touchdown", this is a black necked stilt landing in about 3 inches of water. They tend to take a bit of a bounce when landing (to bleed off airspeed), and you can see the splash of the initial impact just behind him. Here, his feet have not yet hit the bottom, as you can see by comparing to the bottom bird. Taken in the Leonnabelle Turbull Birding Center in Port Aransas, Texas. This is located in a large marsh adjacent to Corpus Christi Bay and the Intracoastal Waterway with an exit at Aransas Pass into the Gulf of Mexico.
