Most of the band is over in Ireland, so in May of 2009 we've got Lynn Hicks sitting in on drums, and Matt Schuler alternating with Chris DeAngelis on bass. Sounds great!
As soon as the Germanicus was completed, an even more important commission was received, this time for the Basilica of Saint Peter's. It was for a large altarpiece depicting the Martyrdom of Saint Erasmus. The picture was not a success and, with the exception of the Virgin with Saint James (Louvre, Paris) which was probably painted for a church in Valenciennes, Poussin painted only one larger altarpiece for a prominent position. The Erasmus is nevertheless important in several ways: it shows Poussin's temporary preoccupation with the Caravaggesque idiom and also his weaknesses as a composer of large altarpieces, demonstrating that he was temperamentally unsuited to the painting of a single picture on a grand scale. Almost all the greatest pictures of his maturity form part of a pair or a series: the first set of Sacraments, the Seasons, and the Crossing of the Red Sea paired with the Adoration of the Golden Calf.
The footway the contractor left for the general public to use whilst he rebuilt the culvert wasn't really adequate so the overseeing parties made them build this. Now love it or hate it this is temporary works as an Engineer I'd love to get away with. However I'm working on it! I hope this gets me up to date as well with the right number of photos for April!

The Temporary Tattoo project was my favorite project. I enjoyed working with Photoshop and figuring out the different usages for the various tools. My family contains an Irish heritage and this is why I chose a four-leaf clover for the shape of my tattoo. The four hearts signify love and passion throughout my immediate family that consists of four people. The bold letter "M" in the middle stands for our last name, McCarty, and is black to show protection and strength. The blue dots and flow-like line design are pleasing to the eye and are repetitive along with the hearts.
Naomi called the dealership and they said until we bring it in, we should use tape to cover the hole to prevent moisture from getting into the car. The only tape we had that was waterproof was the aluminum tape I used to tape up the chimney of one of our kerosene heaters. Water won't leak through that tape! Fortunately we had already made an appointment to winterize the car for next Monday so they'll take a look at it soon and let us know when it'll be fixed.
The jack (metal bar in the middle) and the post on the right are the only thing holding up the middle of my house on the old side.
Barley hates Baby. In fact, she hates her more than anything in the world and even bit her leg this morning. But in this photo, they appear okay.

They were already hatched when we moved in, so I am not completely sure how old they are. The robin parents have been very busy feeding them worms and things.
Our cats are fascinated, as are we. I'm not sure how soon it will be before they fledge the nest. The biggest one of the four has been flexing it's little wings a bit.
