I severely dislike malls. And I absolutely hate sales. I avoid them like black plague.
Just can't understand people who cross the days on calendar till next sale and take days off to spend them in a hectic shopping frenzy, wrestling with other shoppers for the stuff they'll probably never even take out of the closet.
Fortunately my better half isn't so fond of sales either.
Thus, I can't remember how I actually happened to be in here at the time. (Okay, I do - we needed some specific item, which was rather impossible to find in all that crowd anyway.) But I do remember I was much more interested in sunlight, shining through the window than the damn thing we were looking for...

Last year, I bought a carton of eggs at Mother's Market in Newport Beach. They weren't any different from any of the other eggs, as far as I could tell. Then I cracked one open, and I stood over it in my kitchen, awestruck. If you already think eggs are perfect, you have no idea just how perfect they can be. These were the most incredible dozen eggs I've ever stumbled across - like the farm-fresh eggs of your dreams, from some green little hamlet in a forgotten corner of Scotland. The yolks were a deep reddish-yellow orange, so rich and flavorful it was almost as if I'd never tasted an egg before in my life. I savored them as best I could, allowing myself only one or two at a time, using other eggs in baking. And even though I wanted them all to myself, I gave the remaining two eggs to someone else, someone whose love of eggs is lifelong and far more dedicated than mine.

Apparently the only really warm clothes we own are plaid....(I know, technically my pants aren't plaid...but you get the idea;))
It would have been even more of a group-fashion-clashing-disaster if the puce & magenta skirt I'd planned on wearing had not been at the cleaners...

This is the day I learned that when using scissors to strip plenum to make an Ethernet cable, one should not attempt to pull the plenum off with the scissors, because the scissors can slip and slice up a finger.
"Oh, that looks fine," said one coworker, as I tried to stauch the blood.
It sure didn't look fine to me!
Another coworker asked, "would you like me to drive you to the hospital?"
I thought a moment, and went to the ER. It was a good reminder to slow down!
