Sophie & I ran a 3-day wearable technology bootcamp using LilyPad Arduino for 11-13 year-olds at Aberystwyth for www.Technocamps.com - a project led by Swansea University in partnership with the Universities of Bangor, Aberystwyth and Glamorgan that inspires young people aged 11-19 to attend technology workshops on a range of computing-based topics.
Next time you drink herbal tea, think about this image – it's a computer reproduction that originated as a tiny piece of burdock, the herbal substance. The image, a nanoburr, shows how protein fragments can be used for slow-releasing drug therapies. For patients with heart disease or in cases where a stent must be used to inject medicine, a nanoburr could be used as an alternative because the drug would attach to artery walls and do their handiwork over time. The particles could also be used to seek out and destroy tumors. The image shown represents a nanoburr that is just 60 nanometers in diameter.

We hosted a tour for 17 visiting IT graduate students from The Faculty of Computer and Information Science University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. The students are touring the West Coast as part of a sponsored program to visit leading technology companies like Microsoft, Google, and IBM among others.
As part of a large rebranding project, we designed this new packaging for Metropolis Technology.
Playing on the theme of the company's name, the new packaging features extensive imagery of city life in two categories - blue for professional products and magenta for consumer. Each package features bright colors, contrasted with rich blacks and matte textures contrasted with glossy UV areas.

The 10th TECH cocktail in Chicago drew a crowd of over 700 guests as they helped to amplify the technology signal and kicked off the 2009 TECH cocktail season.
The event was sponsored by Microsoft BizSpark, ChicagoMicro, SaperLaw, Eastwick PR, Total Attorneys and OpenMake Software. The following startups showed off: Cameesa.com, FYIndOut, The Local Tourist, Dosensio, Coupon Tweet, News @ Seven, Newser, Fan Found and Texthog.
