Cheers to our self-proclaimed "not techy" piano teacher who figured out Zoom in order to do virtual piano lessons with her students.

We rigged up a little platform for the iPad, and a way to tilt it just the slightest bit forward so that the teacher can see both my child at the piano and her fingers on the keys, and --it might be a little less than best case scenario, but-- it works!

When I grabbed my camera for this shot, I realized how thankful I am for the gift of the daily routine of the kids practicing piano for weekly lessons... and for our teacher's fresh face and kind voice in our home each week, even if it is on a screen.

I'm glad to have this shot. I feel the day-to-day life of quarantine and what it looks like for our family in this moment from our day.

Also; I am realizing (as I note in the comments) that I don’t think I like that “blessed” sign...

(I really enjoyed Jenny's and Erin's discussion on the podcast about documentary photos during this time. Thank you both! Your words helped me. Thanks!)

Stabling stock from King's Cross, which is off to the right, at Bounds Green is not as simple as may appear but the solution is long standing with minimal occupation of the running lines.

A flying junction is used, the train branching off via the line partially visible in the lower left hand corner which leads to a bridge over the busy four running lines and Bowes Park station where the train halts in a special siding, the crew changes ends, and then reverses the train down the gradient, as can be seen here. The Up slow line is joined briefly towards Alexandra Palace station a few hundred yards away, where a final reversal can bring the train into the depot.

Techy stuff: Making the move is an East Coast blue unit headed by 82 227. Stabled in the yard are more blue and silver East Coast units. Taken at almost the same time as the previous picture at Bounds Green but the day after the clocks went forward so the light is brighter.

And thanks to the techies who thought of RAW, I’ve been able to do just that :). This picture was taken on a very foggy day where the sun was out, but not much above the horizon. And I’m quite content with the way changing the WB, made the image so dramatic. I further cropped the image in PS, no other post processing done.

And here is a little reminder of how far I've come. I know I'm not a really great bird photographer yet. But I think I'm getting there someday soon :)

Second image of the life after death series. The series is based on the movie The Lovely Bones. The individual in the image enters a world between worlds through a oneway door. She looks upon the landscape creating a magical landscape that defies physics.

A lot of Photoshop and trial and error. Very pleased with the colours though.

One of the former residents of Cardiff Canton after dispersal stands at Newton Heath. Its nameplate has alas been removed, and its number plate, although that's been replaced by a painted board. In place of a shedplate, 12B (Carlise Upperby) has been painted on. But there's no hiding the elegant lines of the "Britannias".

Techy stuff: Newton Heath was transferred from 26A to 9D in 1963. Zorki camera, FP3.

First image of the life after death series. The series is based on the movie The Lovely Bones.

Now, what can i say... it was a certainly entertaining project. I painted and fitted the door during my evenings. I used whispy brush stroke effects and then scratched away some paint. I rusted up my door knobs and scratched a 'No Exit' sign. The fame was cut by yours truly... and that wasn't even the shoot itself.

We just managed to fit the door, the dog and us into my mums car - the door made for a decent coffee table.

I grabbed a spade and bagan to dig a hole just big enough for me to fit inside and just small enough so the door was sturdy. I lay the bottom of the hole with a blanket, set up the camera and clambered into the hole.

... Lets just say we had an audience during this shoot.

The gradient sky was natural.
