Yesterday I discovered my The Complete New Yorker cd-rom collection is no longer usable after two years because my whizzo new OS "no longer supports powerpc" after five arduous years. What a great purchase- my kudos go out to every fuckwit that typed a line of code, high on Mountain Dew.
What horrible travails you must have gone through writing code, adding fixes over the next few months…. then sitting on your fat pimply asses writing new code to make your perfectly functioning work obsolete?
What the hell kind of support does software need? It either works or it doesn't. Planned obsolescence in computer technology is worse than the craptastic rust bucket auto industry in the 1970s. A total shitbox like the Dodge Aspen lasted longer than consumer software.
So here's a BIG FUCK YOU to every pimply Comic con techie and their tax dodging Zen billionaire bosses (and the same goes to you wage slaves in Hyderabad, or wherever). Now I have to navigate the New Yorker's flickering website every time I want to read a back issue.
None of you meatballs will appreciate the coherent sentences and subtle humor of Robert Benchley or Wolcott Gibbs.
Cocksuckers.
Oh, and don't bother telling me about Windows. I ran through several PC dogs and their sooo s l o w, CRASH. My parents bought a succession of horrible GM, Ford, and VW cars over the years- no more.
This analogy falls apart because for all the oil leaks, blocked radiators, and failed electrical systems (that's you Ford) they mostly kept going.
