Southwest Tech Dairy Herd Management students are encouraged to get involved in their communities. They are required to do a Service Learning Project for two classes, Dairy Industry and Psychology of Human Relations. Yesterday, they created stations at our Child Care Center to teach our youngest students about agriculture. The stations included: milking a "cow"; putting together a puzzle and learning the parts of a cow; petting a calf; petting a goat and making a goat craft; and riding a pedal tractor.

Vet Tech students in Dr. Watson’s Imaging class had a chance to take a field trip to the Peaceful Ridge Rescue where they worked on their skills with larger animals—it’s the kind of experience that can’t happen in an ordinary classroom. #MyCityCollege #CityCollege

Prats de Mollo la Preste was once a walled town defending the northern border of Catalonia against the French.
However, the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659 divided Catalonia between France and Spain so its role was changed.
The large fort on the hill, Fort Lagarde, was built by Vauban (who else?) in 1683 as much to keep the locals under control as to defend against the Spanish after the locals rebelled against French rule up until 1667.
