I am packing for my first trip to NECC in Washington DC. So far I have included the items pictured. Still need to pack AA batteries, the camera I used for the photo, and some band-aids (for possible blisters). I know I am forgetting something....but what?
In the distant future, nature will be mechanical. Animals can also catch and digest their prey biomechanically. All plants will be present anywhere, being generated by a self-sustaining living soil. In this world, animals repopulate the earth, although it may be that over time have forgotten what it was at first ... life is a continuously repeating cycle!
This project has cost me a year of work, changes and different designs. It is not finished, never will be ... but for now it remains so. Thanks to those who have encouraged me to finish it, here it is!
It's for you all!

Digital composite using original photography and hand-drawn lettering (2002). Samples from an old Olympia typewriter appear backwards as well. i had thought about making my own dirty typewrite font from that sample, but... hmm I should still do that!
The musician pictured is the alto saxophonist John Jenkins, who I photographed in the early 90's. Here he's meant to be iconic, a laid-back jazz reference amid a rough and disoriented background.
