of teachers day...........
Is education system helpful to these kids who learn ABC without an understanding of what it is? .... these migrant workers mostly from impoverished parts of north India find a decent livelihood in the jhuggies of Kukkatpalli with each and everyone making Ganapatis for the festival and then Diyas for Diwali and some pop statues during other time. Education does not touch the door of these places probably the family does not see value add to it.
We can say that this child needs to be in school... I agree but also wonder is our education system in its present shape an use for people of this strata or a more productive kind of one which is useful for them.
This child ironically is named Bharat , who is street smart has probably learned more being on the street than in school........
By the way this boy is not employed as child labour but helps his family eek out a living in his family business of making ganapatis
Whats your take folks?

Happy Teachers' Day!!
I put on my senior high school uniform that day. To wear the same uniform in the same high school twice, on last time I was a student, on this time a teacher!
This year, I get my first Happy Teachers' Day card. I'm so happy! Will I get another next year? What am I going to do next yeat on this time?
The English Major Student Association gave all the foreign teachers a gift bag for Teacher's Day. This is what was in mine.
My children and I embarked on this project today as gifts for Teachers' Day this coming Friday - something I try to advocate that hand making a gift from the heart is more meaningful than picking a gift from the store. Wooden pegs are painted and clay bead designs matched by them. (Hearts are shaped by me. LOL)

Lincolnās Letter to his Sonās Teacher
He will have to learn, I know, that all men are not just, all men are not true.
But teach him also that for every scoundrel there is a hero;
that for every selfish Politician, there is a dedicated leaderā¦
Teach him for every enemy there is a friend,
Steer him away from envy, if you can,
teach him the secret of quiet laughter.
Let him learn early that the bullies are the easiest to lickā¦
Teach him, if you can, the wonder of booksā¦
But also give him quiet time to ponder the eternal mystery of birds in the sky,
bees in the sun, and the flowers on a green hillside.
In the school teach him it is far honourable to fail than to cheatā¦
Teach him to have faith in his own ideas, even if everyone tells him they are wrongā¦
Teach him to be gentle with gentle people, and tough with the tough.
Try to give my son the strength not to follow the crowd when everyone is getting on the band wagonā¦
Teach him to listen to all menā¦
but teach him also to filter all he hears on a screen of truth, and take only the good that comes through.
Teach him if you can, how to laugh when he is sadā¦
Teach him there is no shame in tears,
Teach him to scoff at cynics and to beware of too much sweetnessā¦
Teach him to sell his brawn and brain to the highest bidders but never to put a price-tag on his heart and soul.
Teach him to close his ears to a howling mob and to stand and fight if he thinks heās right.
Treat him gently, but do not cuddle him, because only the test of fire makes fine steel.
Let him have the courage to be impatient⦠let him have the patience to be brave.
Teach him always to have sublime faith in himself, because then he will have sublime faith in mankind.
This is a big order, but see what you can do⦠He is such a fine little fellow,
my son!
~ Abraham Lincoln
This October 5, 2018 the SFAMSC Community celebrates Holy Mass as a thanks giving to our Heavenly Father for giving us such wonderful teachers! This is also a mass to thank our most beloved patron saint Francis of Assisi for bestowing us his wisdom and always praying for the children of SFAMSC.
My son and I wish everybody a very happy teacher's day and a heartfelt thank you for being so awesome and being an inspiration for all of us :)
