A bicycle taxi, also called a bicycle rickshaw, is a bicycle that is used to transport passengers or goods from bicycle couriers. In contrast to the traditional rickshaw, a cycle rickshaw is not pulled by the driver, but driven by his pedaling.

The water taxi had just departed from the Birkenhead Wharf, taking its passenger, and his bicycle, to a rendezvous with a mystery girl named Zoe at 'The Butcher's Block', in Tower One at Barangaroo - Darling Harbour.

(I was speaking to him on the wharf!!)

Motorbike taxis are very common in Thailand and represent a very cheap way of getting around, especially from public transport hubs. On Koh Kret they are the only means of getting around if you don't want to walk or have two wheels of your own...

A fun and enjoyable way to get around the harbor is on these special little water taxis.

"For more than 30 years, our little ‘pickle’ boats and charismatic captains have been traversing Victoria harbour connecting locals and visitors to the city’s waterfront neighbourhoods, shopping districts, parks and trail networks. Our experienced captains are natural entertainers known for their love of the ocean, passion for storytelling, and unrivaled safety records. Recognized as one of the city’s most treasured attractions, we are proud of our privileged opportunity to share joy and local knowledge with our passengers, many who come to experience the splendor and intrigue of a harbour tour, and many more who simply come seeking a water taxi as a unique and scenic way to travel." victoriaharbourferry.com

Taxi! is the title of J. Seward Johnson Jr's unusual bronze statue, which freeze-frames a city worker, presumably homeward bound after a day at the office. Except, of course he's going nowhere fast.

This statue on John Carpenter Street near Blackfriars station has been trying to hail a cab since 2014. And so far, he's had no luck.

Peter Teichman taxis "Tall In The Saddle" at Old Warden in some georgeous early autumn light. The P-51D is painted in the markings it wore while assigned to the 332nd Fighter Group the Tuskegee Airmen, better known as the Red Tails. Lt Col George Hardy who flew this actual P-51D on 21 missions in 1945 during the later stages of WW2, for which he was awarded the Air Medal for meritorious achievement, was the guest of honour at the air show.
