Taxco es una hermosa ciudad colonial y uno de los destinos más atractivos del estado de Guerrero. Se localiza en un área geográfica definida por montañas y cerros, los cuales le brindan a su horizonte cierta proyección topográfica, característica del norte de esta entidad del país. La gran explotación minera desarrollada en el lugar, en especial para la obtención de plata, consolidó a Taxco como uno de los núcleos mineros más significativos de los tiempos novohispanos. Muchos de los hermosos edificios que ennoblecen sus calles, datan precisamente de tal época dorada.
Quien recorre por vez primera este magnífico lugar, por lo general queda fascinado por la atmósfera virreinal que lo particulariza. Lleno de antiguas y señoriales casonas, con calles empedradas y sugestivos callejones, los visitantes al recorrer todo lo anterior, arriban a gratas plazas de pequeño tamaño y gran encanto. No hay que olvidar que, por su belleza, riquezas naturales, infraestructura turística y antiguas tradiciones, Taxco posee el título de Pueblo Mágico.
