Busy work day - didn't make it out for a walk, and ended up working quite late. Managed to fit in a couple of games of darts with Tim this evening though, and the new episode of Taskmaster :)
My niece's birthday today - had a nice little WhatsApp exchange with her. Also texted with my nephew, whose birthday is tomorrow, as I'd accidentally sent his birthday money a day early. He didn't seem to mind! ;) Lovely niblings <3
April 14, 2019. Today's weather was cold and rainy, so no biking today - I stayed inside and wrote a couple of articles instead, one on the carbon tax, and another on the concept of value. Also watched the Blue Jays game, but we're not talking about that. This monk sits on my office desk at home and is my stern taskmaster.
Sabretooth and several others were done by me inspired by a Marvel story I was working up. All are still existing Marvel characters. Taskmaster, Bullseye, and Deadpool ended up getting included.

Keighley Playhouse's production of 'My Fat Friend', by Charles Laurence, was performed at the Playhouse from Monday 13th to Saturday 18th June 2005. The director was Lorna Noble. This was the last production in the 2004/05 season of plays at the Playhouse.
The programme explains the set-up: "Vicky, a hampstead bookshop owner, is a heavyweight. She suffers good humouredly the slings and arrows of her two lodgers: James, a shy Scottish youth who longs to be a writer, and Henry, a not-so-young and not-so-shy homosexual who torments her as only best friends can. After a fleeting romance with a handsome bronzed customer who then leaves to work abroad, Henry, a hard taskmaster, bullies her to begin slimming. She succeeds brilliantly and becomes a shadow of her former self. When the handsome book buyer returns he is overwhelmed - but not in the way they had expected."
Gilly Rogers played the part of Vicky, with Geoff Whitley as Henry, Jamie Robinson as James and Chris Stocks as handsome customer Tom.
The 16-page programme, printed by Kay Jay Print of Crosshills, is part of the Christine Broadley Collection, donated by Christine in 2024.

With the release of the Black Widow film just three weeks away, Marvel Studios continues to release new promotional material for the film. Recently, Marvel Studios released a Black Widow movie poster featuring the epic battle between Natasha and Taskmaster on a bridge. We have actually seen this battle many times in the Black Widow movie trailer. This poster was created by Adam Stothard, and features a very epic image.
The inclusion of Taskmaster as the main villain in the Black Widow film is certainly quite interesting. Taskmaster is indeed a fan favorite villain because it has unique powers. He can perfectly imitate the physical movements of anyone he sees. When meeting with Black Widow, of course Taskmaster can imitate Black Widow's fighting style. In the Black Widow movie trailer, we are also shown how Taskmaster's ability to imitate the abilities of his enemies, such as Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain America, and Hawkeye.
Although the Taskmaster character has often appeared in promotional materials for the Black Widow film, his character is still mysterious. Who is the figure behind Taskmaster's mask is still unknown, and is one of the biggest mysteries in the Black Widow film. Many fans have speculated that the person behind the Taskmaster mask is Yelena, but this has yet to be proven.
In this film, Scarlet Johansson will return to play Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow.
