This tarot card represents a decision, rebirth or conclusion to a life event.
Part of a set of alternative tarot cards, made with photoshop 7. The main figure is by Dali, the background is an aerial landcape shot. The baby and the hindu god are from religious paintings.
The Tarot deck was created in the fifteenth-century Italy as a card game to be enjoyed by the aristocracy. It was not until centuries later that they became associated with occult secrets , divination, and the power of fate. I found these beauties at the Morgan Library.

May 2006 Scavenger Hunt: "Full Circle"
FreakyChick1978's picture reminded me of the Tarot's potential for "Full Circle".
I am by no means a mumbo-jumbo kind of person, and I'm sure these things can't tell the future. However I like the idea of using the manifold associations and ideas in each card as a springboard for brainstorming and self-exploration.
The main picture cards, or "Major Arcana" tell the story of the "Fool's journey". An introduction may be found here. At the beginning, we see the fool about to step blindly over a cliff. At the end: "The Fool turns to take that final step along his final path, and finds, to his bemusement that he is right back where he started, at the edge of that very same cliff he almost stepped over when he was young and too foolish to look where he was going." ... "Ending, in a sense, where he began, beginning again at the end. The world turns, and the Fool journey is complete."
This is a reproduction "Tarot of the Bohemians" deck, 1896 and usefully out of copyright.
The Star is a card of hope. When this card appears in a reading, it signals that now is time for personal transformation. Listen to the little voice inside you and follow your intuition. You can grow from your past experiences, but then you must let them go. Your future can be better than your past.
This is one of my favorite tarot cards and I'm always happy when I see it in a reading. I decided to model for the card myself and recreate the Aquarius constellation, as Aquarius is the astrological sign associated with The Star.

ODC-Playing Cards
My 50-year-old deck of Tarot Cards has regular playing card markings on them. I have also seen people use a regular deck of cards to do tarot readings. That is called cartomancy and dates back to the 1700s
The Tarot is a symbolic map of consciousness that encompasses our journey through life, both spiritually and practically.

Tarot reading is the practice of divining wisdom and guidance through a specific spread (or layout) of Tarot cards. However, contrary to popular belief, the cards do not simply tell your fortune, and one does not have to be a psychic to give Tarot readings. The cards are meant to provide insight into the innermost truths of your higher self. In other words, the cards provide an evolved awareness of what you already know deep within. The origin of the Tarot is unknown, but we do have documented references of Tarot card use back to fourteenth-century Europe. The Tarot has been used as an oracle, in the basic form we know today, since the beginning of the seventeenth century.
Well.. thought I'd see what this is all about.. Not sure what these cards mean but at first glance this set kinda reflects me (I think.. and only if it's good otherwise.. heck, has nothing to do with me LOL..)
